This is starting to sound really good. May the 8th is only a few months away. It'll be cool to meet each other as well. we could go to the vegan festival and then maybe go to a vegetarian restaurant (i hear there are a few in manchester)

Sounds like a plan is forming! And you people getting the train best not bail! :P
I won't bite and I'm sure Nat doesn't either! We have lots of cool restaurants so thats a good idea. :)

hey, the 8th of May looks like it's going to be free. I'm gonna have to keep a calendar full of dates to keep free. I've got a chili peppers concert to go to as well in June.

But I'd definitely love to meet all you cool VBers in person. Just imagine the looks of other Vbers when they get to see how we've invaded the photo album!!! (Note to all: My digicam consumes batteries faster than I can consume an entire vegetable rogan josh, and it's not mine, [it's my dad's] so I doubt I'll be bringing one.)

there are also some cool pubs around the city centre as well ;-)
Im sure to have a digital camera by May (im actually hoping to get one in the next few weeks) so i can bring that. And so have control over which pictures are actually posted hehe

Hmm... Manchester... that's not that far...

By the 8th of May, I'll be in job hunting mode *fingers crossed*, but I aught to be able to make that. Plus, I'd be able to visit certain shops too...

Oh, heck, pencil me in too! Be nice to actually meet another vegetarian.

And oops, have I been neglecting this thread...

About the manchester thing.. not having lived here *that* long and being rather stupid at geography etc,..is manchester feasible as a day trip from london?

Keehar

I'd say so, it's about 3 1/2 hours each way on the train. I suspect I might end up staying overnight though, well maybe anyway, I shall decide closer to the time.

Haha.... gotta love those lazy internet days. :smoke:

I want to go to the Manchester fair, but it might cost too much for me to be able to make it and I know there are a few of us who live in the south, but there is the National Vegan Festival (http://www.veganfestival.freeserve.co.uk) on the 4th July in London. It's a long time away, but us southerners and anyone else who can make it could meet up for that too.

I missed the Vegan festival last year. I've gotto go this year.
For the M'cr one... I'm probably going to go, so if you have a couple of friends, we can carshare. I can fit 4-5 people (5 is a squeeze) and Oxford isn't all that far.

Well, I'm pretty much game for the manchester thingy, as long as I don't get taken horribly ill when the time actually comes, or something else. I'l lthrow my vote in and say that I'll go!

So on the 8th of May there will be a gathering in Manchester?

I'm not completely sure I can make it, but I sure like to meet you.

It's not completely clear to me if the date is fixed yet, but I will be checking the ferry's.

The date is already set as the catalyst for the meet up is a Vegan Festival, see previous messages (one reprinted below for the lazy!!)

"Realfood are also organising a massive Vegan Festival in the North West of England, in the heart of black pudding land.
So keep May the 8th clear in your diaries.
The place to be is Sachas Hotel, Tibs Street, Manchester, from 10.30am to 5pm.
They will have 50 stalls, selling shoes, clothing, food, books, cosmetics, chocolate, beverages - a veritable cornucopia of vegan goods. There will be a chill out room and music and entertainment during the day.
They have posters and leaflets available to distribute all over the NW of England.
(If you want to help in promoting it, giving out leaflets, or help on the day itself please contact them.)
They are currently waiting on confirmation of a punk gig for 'young folk' to attend, and a possibly another gig for those whose tastes are more sedate.
