i had a quick look at the good health vitamins and it looked like they have D3 in them, I thought that was bad and I should be looking for ones with D2 in them?
Also I don't think they are that much cheaper when you work out the price per pill :(
I think the real question for us nzers is what do you guys think of Bro town!!??
I watched it just once and found it a bit painful (like a bit basic on the humour)
then again, maybe it grows on you.

yeah, it is a bit awkward at times, but some of it is damn funny. And (meh - forgotten who said it) but apparently the nation that can laugh at itself is very healthy.
Yeah, i like it, i think it's great to have something that shows just how ridiculous the stereotypes that people have are.

I read this thread today at school so I wrote an article for my news paper thing (damn boring Media Studies :P) on Bro Town.
I've only seen it once. I find it pretty funny ay!
Today I went to Northlands (in CHCH) and....... *wait for it*...
Tofu tofu sells.. FAKE CHICKEN NUGGETS! It's $6.95 for not very many though. I'm going to get some one day. They also have A LOT of fake meats (well it's a lot compartively..)

I'll have to agree with Maree, I've watched bro'town a few times and I was actually disappointed. It looked so much better on the commercial. Like the whole "poos and wees" thing in the first episode, that was just lame...maybe I just don't have much of a sense of humour.

I haven't really watched bro town.
But it did see that 60 minutes is having a story on animal rights and fishing next week so thats a must watch. :)

OH speaking of 60 minutes, oh wait it was 20/20.. Did anyone watch that?
I'm sort of anti-gun, but still that story about that CHCH guy that was in prizon in America made me SO SO SO SO SO SO *insert profanity* SO SO SO SO GAWDDAMN MAD.
AND IT'S SUCH BOLLOCKS. THE INS WONT LET HIM COME HOME FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS BECAUSE... HE'S AN OVERSTAYER (even though he was in jail) and he has to be escorted by 2 guards to NZ.
OH MAN IT MADE ME SO ANGRY.
I need to find an article to post about it or something.

Yeah, I watched that too, it's ridiculous. I'm seriously glad I live in NZ.

yeah, I saw that too - the poor guy. Even if he was guilty of something horrendous, which justfied him being in jail, the overstayer thing is just a joke.
At least he's not in Guntanemo(sp?) Bay - now that's a travesty of all kinds of justice.

I watched the 60 minutes thing on fishing last night.
Some people annoy me so much! :furious:
It seems they don't want to believe fish feel pain because they don't want to stop torturing them. :grr:
Should drag some of them around by a hook in their mouth. I'm sure they wouldn't feel anything, ya know no brain no pain. :dunce:

I totally agree, Tropikiwi. It's not as if fish struggle for no reason when you pull them out of the water *hits head against wall* At least if they are doing a news story on it, it will get people thinking

Tënä Koutou!
i am writing a formal letter to a government agency in nz and was wondering if anybody here is somewhat knowledgable about the maori language. it is a business letter and i have started it with the greeting used above (is it right?). what is a good farewell for the end of this kind of letter? i want to use it in place of the 'sincerely' part, and/or also say 'see you later' (i have found a few, but not sure which is appropriate). also are there any macrons that are needed (i can only get the two dots above, so i will fill in the inbetween once it has printed).
thanks!

Depends what you're trying to say.. tènà koutou just means hello.
Nàku noa, "your name" is the equvilent of yours sincerely!

thanks DannyKass!
so if i end saying: Nàku noa, he konei ra - is that right or do you think Nàku noa is sufficient?
thanks again!

I don't know much Maori :p We just did a tincy bit at primary school!
But I think it would be suffiecent.. because you don't normally put goodbye after yours sincerely anyway..
Unless you're sending it to a Maori person.. they'll most likely have no idea what it means.. :P

I went to Filadelfio's (a restaurant in Colombo St, Chch. They also have one in Dunedin) and they offered a vegan pizza, and a range of about 5 veggie pizzas. They were very good too :lick: Has anyone else checked them out?

And, tropikiwi, yeah i read that article. It was..interesting i guess.
the girl interviewed who is president of the Meat Club did a story in Critic (the otago uni magazine) on vegetariansim. Her argument for meat eating seemed to be "it makes me feel good so it's morally ok"...yeah, that's a great one :)
