I got mine from the health food store in Ricc mall.. But that's not there anymore!!!!

Also I saw it (the egg replacer) in Woolworths! And in the health food store in Northlands too!

I have a good face wash.. Its "Young Solutions" in a clear bottle.. from Farmers.. it says "No animal testing" on it.. but yeah I'm not sure if its actually Vegan. Same with my hair straightening balm, its really good. Its in a blue tube from Farmers, its by Binge Cosmetics!

And if you want make-up which isn't tested on animals I recommend Napoleon! I love it!

Hey
Any of you ever order from an online veggie store?
How bad was the shipping?

I've ordered quite a few times and it is pretty expensive - for the US ones (veganessentials.com and veganstore.com) the shipping has generally been at least $20US usually closer to $30US or more, thats for some food items and make up or cookbooks, probably a couple of pounds in weight. Some of the food items are sooooo worth it though :lick:

I ordered from veganstore.co.uk a couple of times, that was by far the most expensive, about 30 pounds I think, but that was for a pair of sandals.

The Australian ones(vegano.com.au and crueltyfreeshop.com.au) have a pretty small range and probably not that different than we get here but shipping is usually around $15AU.

One quite good place that I have used a few times is http://www.viva.org.uk/shop/ the cost of postage is based on how much you spend and you can see how much it's gonna cost before you order.

I've been organizing a trip to NZ for a couple of years now. I'm planning on visiting for a month or so in July/August 2004. Still a year away I know, but it gives me time to save up money. Can't wait! :D

I'll be visiting during NZ winter... any warm destination recommendations? Considering my summer vacation spans May through August.

Warm destinations.. that time of year? Haha :P

August is usually the month of snow and flooding, and it's lived up to it's nature this year, but I mean I suppose it's not really all that bad.

Basically the further south you go the colder it is, but I think it snows/rains a bit more in the north island (not too sure about that, just its on the news more).

Of all the major cities in NZ I think they are all rather different (ok so there's like 5 or 6 :P), but yeah all have their own good stuff.. I like Christchurch and Dunedin best! (Dunedin = the coldest, and Christchurch is my city :P) Wellingtons pretty cute! But its windy! And Aucklands massive, and they have heaps of people and like highway like things too! Its too packed for my liking (but yeah people from other places would probably be used to that), Aucklands still cool though. Rotorua is wicked! Theres heaps of geothermal activity and loads of tourist maori places, if you're into that!

And yeah, yep.

I am happy :bobo:
I went the a organically healthfoody shop and bought the egg replacer.
They also had stuff I had only heard about like the braggs that I have seen in recipes. So I think I will go back to be spendy soon :hamster:
On the subject of recipes I have the book How it all vegan out of the library.
I like it. I have a gift voucher for witcoulls so I am thinking of asking if they can order a book for me to buy. Maybe How it all vegan or Garden of vegan or the mediterranian Vegan one.
Oh and I am gonna go see supersize me on Tuesday (cheap day :shifty: )
Probably gonna get lunch first. I of course said we could always go to mcdonalds ;) :p

Also, did anyone see the report on hen battery farming which viewed on 60 Minutes last night (Monday 20th) at 7.30pm on 3? It was very interesting even though I knew about some of the effects of battery farming already. It's so sad- I even had to turn away at some points.

Hahha Nicky I was thinking about you this morning!! Well I was just thinking "man she hasn't been on vb in a while!!"

I heard someone on the radio talk about those famous people.. well all they were saying was "Good on them.. But who the hell is Asa Rock?"

speaking of veg patties - has anyone here tried the Bean Supreme ones? I'm not sure if they are vegan, and I haven't had them in a while (flatting budget means i have to make my own patties :( ) but i loved them when I last had them - they are nice and moist (i hate that word, but it's so apt) unlike some other types of premade ones.

The ones that were wearing the bikinis made of feathers? I only recognised Nicky Watson, and one of the others which I didn't know the name of.

And yes, I've been busy and a bit slack with posting! Hopefully now that it's holidays I can pop on here a bit more and contribute to some of the threads :) Hope you have a good break Dan :)

Ok so I finally went looking for veggie vitamins.
I found a vegetarian multivitamin by Solgar. But it was like $50 for 90 capsules which seems expensive to me!
Any one know of cheap vegan vitamins?
Should I order online?
Or forget the multi idea and just go for like a B12 supplement?
So confused :dizzy:

Ahh I used to have some good ones.. they came inside a box, and on it they said "Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans".

Sorry don't remember the name.. but they weren't that expensive!

Ask at a healthfood store.. or a chemist maybe..

I use these ones - http://www.goodhealth.co.nz/health_product.cfm/productid/105/startrow/1 they should be available in most health food shops, I think they are around $13 for the pack of 30. They are quite big though so I always have to have a big glass of drink and food ready cause they leave such a gross taste in your mouth!
