RSPCA stuff I would go for, except that I'm a bit put off when they are behind PACE farms 'free range', whilst PACE also have battery hens. I'm living in the hope that there's some awesome egg producer who only slightly treats his hens like crap, not entirely. [Huge generalisation there!] Thank you for the link!

Leura...gorgeous! I went all around those areas a lot during uni [I was at Richmond, we affectionately called it the 'arse end of the earth' becuase it required 3 hours travel each way, to get there :'( ]. I didn't go. I had to work in the restaurant tonight. Unfortunately we had little cards with information regarding our specials, so I couldn't withhold it from customers that veal was an option. D'oh! I hope they got a good turn out at the festival.

Yeah, I agree. I told mum about it... she's not very happy about it. It's bloody hard, hey? Where are awesome egg producers out there? :( lol

You went to Richmond uni? COOL!! Umm.... 'arse end of the earth'... couldn't agree with you more. I've done several courses at Richmond TAFE... takes such a frigging long time to get there. Veal.... erkk. :surprised hehe.

My mum only purchases the RSPCA approved eggs. :)

Yeah, they're the only ones that you can rely on for being free range.

Some other producers label them FR when they're not.

I am having difficulty getting Channel 10. Does anyone know anything about antenna and getting good TV reception? I just bought a set top box for digital and want clear reception. It's not exactly urgent, it's not like I watch much TV, and hardly any 10, but still, I'd like it there as an option. And I do watch House.

theres often one channel thats a bit of right off and its usually 10 or 2 depending on your region. what kind of aerial have you got, is it indoor or outdoor and what kind of condition is it in?

If you only watch House, stuff channel 10, just get it off the net.

Umm... to Kali, 2 is perfect. Don't know what sort of aerial, something that came with the house that was stuck on the roof. Choosing out of 10 and 2 I choose 10. Don't know what sort of connection it is. The connection itself comes out of the wall and plugs in to the TV or set top box or whatever. Ask me lots of questions about illegal downloading or streaming of movies or show and I'm your girl... actual TV watching has me stumped, I never do it! :p *feels dumb*

Good idea on House of the 'net. I watch NCIS sometimes, too, but that's about it. I know waggling the aerial might work but if it is 10 vs 2 the 2 will win.

It was more frustration at having a bought a set top box for digital and not being able to figure out how to get a clear channel 10 when the person up the road could. Heh.

if the neighbour can get a good recep, its most likely to be your aerial on the roof. its probably been up there for years and is a bit corroded and needs replacing. someone needs to get up there and check it out. if its not corroded its probably a positional problem. you can correct that by undoing the u-bolts and moving it a bit until you get a good picture. check out how your neighbours have got theirs facing and adjust it to more or less the same position.

If it's an old antenna, it's probably only designed to receive VHF, so you'll need a new one that covers the digital (higher frequency) channels.

getting a new antenna specifically for digital is a damn good idea, but its not essential. you can receive a digital reception on the old style antennas but a few of them might be missing thats all. i can get a reasonably good digital reception on my laptop with just a pair of ordinary rabbit ears.

I don't want to fork out for a new aerial for the goddamn TV! :D The aerial around here are all freakishly tall - I'm guessing it would cost more that I want to spend on TV. I am stingy and and don't watch much.

I reckon it's old - it's an old rental property. I am going to try adjusting the position on the weekend. We need a very tall ladder, though, to accomplish that. ABC1, ABC2 and SBS are all beautiful, crystal clear. I'll just keep telling myself the commercial channels are overrated. :D

a new antenna would cost you about 50 bucks. a new digital one is about 150 or more.

youre in the gong arent you? if so, i think that could be cuz they used to beam the signal in from sydney whereas i think its a local reception now, so the aerials probably havent been changed since then.

Kiz , when you are adjusting it , clean the connections while you are up there . If they are damp dry of and melt the wax of a candle over them to water proof them .

I was just thinking that because we can do that on our lappie's, Kiz should be able to pick up digital 10 on her STB with rabbit ears then, yes?

If her antenna is buggered, she only watches 10, and wants to spend as little as possible, then she could save $20 and get rabbit ears instead.

in theory yr right, but im not sure how the picture would be realsitically. its not something ive tried because weve never needed to.
its gonna look a bit ugly though with an stb, youve got ya nice modern stb and then these massive 1980's style rabbit ears hanging out the top! :) also if the pic does happen to be **** then you have to invest in a roof antenna anyway and then youve spent twice as much almost.

I agree. I found a great falafel and cous cous deli salad at Safeway, and I have never seen it at any Coles (I've been into about 4 different Coles looking for it because I have the discount card). Coles only have a tabboleh salad which I've tried and it's okay but not quite the Safeway falafel/cous cous salad.

End rant.

Likewise! :p All I have is a Coles, and my 'Safeway'/Woolies would require a twenty minute walk, and a 15 minute bus...something which is not going to happen. They do have the better vegie patties though IMO.

Speaking of dodgy Coles, I got so excited to see curry puffs in the freezer section, only to find that they include chicken. D'oh. Samosa's will have to suffice.
