A couple of programmes that might be of interest:

The staff are suffering compassion fatigue. Committed animal lovers and carers, they are at breaking point with the enormous number of painful decisions they make every day to put down animals they cannot house or find homes for.

That would be interesting.

Compassion fatigue is definitly something I can identify with being a former nurse.

When I volunteered there the management once ordered in pizza as a treat for us. I said that I hoped it would be vegetarian, and one of the RSPCA staff replied: "There's no bloody vegetarians here!"
So, their compassion only extends to dogs and cats etc., unless there have been radical changes in the last few years.
