I'm watching the proceedings from Parliament and have been moved to tears by the speeches of Kevin Rudd and Brendan Nelson.
I wish I'd recorded it.

Kev's speech was great but I didn't like Brendan's.

I think he made too much mention of non-indigenous people at the start and I don't think he should have mentioned the compo stuff in the way he did. Either way though, it was a really great and historical day for Australia yesterday. It's fantastic that the S word has finally been said. :up:

I missed both speeches as I was working. I saw the 48 second version of Nelson's on The Age website and didn't understand why everyone was angry at him, but just read all 6 pages of it online and yeah... I get the fuss now (despite agreeing with a few of his points). Talk about totally glorifying our history =/

man, im pretty happy with this govt so far, theyre not wasting any bloody time getting stuff done. yesterday was great, and now theyre already starting to work on rolling work choices back. this is more like the progressive australia I remember before the howard era. :up:
