Kevin '07!
Too right dude :)
Yeah. go the Kevmeister
JOHN Howard makes US political strategists blush. His language is so direct, his criticism of Kevin Rudd is so demeaning, that the Prime Minister reminds American pollster and linguist Frank Luntz of Richard Nixon.
"He is using the most blunt terminology that I have ever seen a leader use," Luntz says. "Howard is almost Nixonian."
Praise or putdown? It depends whether voters want to see Howard beating up on Rudd. It worked in 2004, when Howard faced off against Mark Latham. But Luntz isn't sure it is the correct strategy to deploy against the less threatening Rudd.
"Howard has taken a polarising role. Every question they ask of him, he finds a way to bring it back to Rudd. If someone asks him 'Where's the toilet?' he answers, 'Exactly where Australia will be if Kevin Rudd becomes the prime minister.'
"It doesn't matter what the topic is. 'What kind of weather are we going to have today?' 'It's going to be cloudy because Kevin Rudd is going to bring the storms of economic ruin.' He will find an analogy, a metaphor and attach it to Kevin Rudd that's really harsh.
"America has a reputation for having a knock-down, drag-out negative electoral system. But it doesn't hold a candle to Australia. You guys are so much more blunt, so much more in-your-face."

wtf? This Luntz guy has a lot to learn about aussies if he thinks Howard is blunt :dizzy: :)

Here in Australia I think politics is just more direct and unfiltered."

noooooo - it was lame as! The whole spiel about it was very ACA or TT. It was kind of embarassing for Sky.
it's still on the IQ though if you wanna watch it. It just seemed like an excuse for that American guy to flog his silly toy. He wasn't willing to commit himself about the outcome of the election too which was even more lame.
cool, ill check it out later.

Hi Australians :p I might move to Australia (from Holland) for a while next year :) I was there last May and I really enjoyed myself... way too short, but time will change that. Oh and there are quite some vegan options in the shopping... I do think that the Australian culture isn't very veg*n friendly though, although that probably depends also in what part of the nation you are. Small towns seldomly are ;)
I had an amazing dinner at Mother Chu's in Sydney, a veg*n restaurant that was just... Mmmmmmm! So many options!

Hi Pandora :)
Glad to hear that you had a good time while you were here. I was itching to get back after my first holiday in Aus. I've actually got a trip planned to your country early next year. :hamster:

That is great! Like a swap... :p I advise to go a bit later though, but this is assuming you have control over the time when you go, because things are so much nicer in spring/summer in the Netherlands, but perhaps you don't mind the cold mean winter.. I am looking very forward to the Australian warmth again! :pibo:

This show is under fire at the moment for reinforcing stereotypes. I'm not sure that it does. I'm sure most teenagers are smart enough to see the joke.

Damn you Shonelle, that's the one I wanted to post but it wouldn't work.
POLICE are working to identify a group of rail workers who appear in "moronic" YouTube videos in which they boast about drinking and drug use on work trips.
Deputy Premier John Watkins said the workers, who videoed themselves while dressed in rail worker gear, would face a criminal investigation and possibly the sack.
Do these guys hate their job and are looking for the sack, or are they just thick? :worried:

Bit of both? lol
MORE than half of Australian travellers have tried to cheat hotel minibars with tactics such as replacing bottled water with tap water, a survey by TripAdvisor, the travel booking engine company, has found.
http://blogs.news.com.au/news/travel/excessbaggage/index.php/newstravel/comments/mini_bars_drive_travellers_to_cheat/
I can honestly say I've never taken anything from the mini bar. I'm shocked and stunned at my fellow aussies :p
