Not yet in Australia, but in November i`ll go there.. I`ll arrive to Melbourne and then looking for some job.. Do any one know any work there? ;) Or would some one want to meet and show me place in Melbourne?
Hmmm, is it wrong that I have no sympathy for the guy in Thailand who died from the bird flu after eating his neighbour's Chicken? Like the chicken had taken out revenge on this guy? In a way it's good that the birds themselves don't appear to die from the flu they're carrying and that it's stopping people from eating them. The sad part is they're being killed for carrying the disease.
I just hope theres a positive outcome and that many people will become vegetarian in order to avoid catching this if it ever returns again in the future. Much like what happened in the UK after the mad cow disease.

For any Adelaide veg*s
I have not seen this shop in any of the veg Soc SA lists but there is a great little vegan eatery / grocery at Christies Beach on Beach Rd called Golden Nature.
Friendly staff, great tasting vegan food (no animal products at all are used in their dishes) & some great products in the shop.
The owner will also give free veg cooking demos to those who are interested.
Highly recommended...
PS I am not connected in any way to the shop (except as a customer)

Hello all, just thought I'd drop by and say 'ello. Moved from Sydney to Tasmania 4 odd years ago for a better lifestyle (just miss all that vegan mainland food). Finding the vegetarian and vegan cultures very undeveloped in Australia :whip:

Rye -- it's maybe two hours from Melbourne, on the Mornington peninsula.
Rye is quite nice!
My nana lives in Rosebud. Though granted, it does get quite boring especially if it isn't hot and shopping at k-mart doesn't appeal to you so much. It is very touristy though and I like to go down the peninsula to chill out a bit.
Do you come down to Melbourne much?

and yes, true, the vegan culture here's a bit crap..but its getting there.

Hi guys- was wondering if you could help with a restaurant suggestion in Sydney.
My husband and I are celebrating 10 years together in March and I thought a nice swanky up-market restaurant would be a fun way to splurge!
Only prob is I can only think of Doyles, Tetsuyas... a bunch of meaty places! I know there are nice regular veg restaurants but I wanted "up-market" where we can still get a couple of nice veggie meals. Gotta feel like it's worth the money and not just pasta or a grilled veggie stack!
Thanks!!
Well just to reply to myself if anyone is interested... I've found Rockpool and Level 41 (so far) do vegetarian taster menus (about 10 courses) but it's about $150 per person or $200 per person with wines. Holy Schomoly! Might still do it though... it's a LOT of money!

Im looking for a practical training place from australia. (Im studying gardening). So i would like to know if there are some one who could know some gardens in Darwin or in Cairns. Our practicing time is from May to September and Im wondering is there any job then? Yea I know it`s not the best time work there, but i just have to go to australia. And I cant think anything else than australia.and thats why i just have to go there. Im little mad maybe. :)
Is there (in Darwin or in Cairns) some vegan or vegetarian community where a happy 25 years old vegan girl could sleep if i cant lodge to some garden.. :)
And then i would like to hear your thoughts about Darwin and Cairns. And everything.. Want to come there already!! =)
