Payless shoes are quite good with that sort of thing.

Thanks for the tips. I've checked out that website and it looks pretty good but I'm still a bit concerned about the size thing as I have pretty big feet so sometimes the largest size in a range fits me and other times not. But on their site they ask you for 4 different foot measurements so that could ensure that I get ones that fit. I'd be safest to get docs because I already have a pair and thus know my size, but apparently docs aren't good enough for this wedding. I'm not too keen to fork out a wad of cash for ugly shoes I'll never wear again but that's another story ...
Any chance you could be more specific about the location of that Newtown store? Was it on the main drag? I used to live there and will be hanging out there a lot.

The place at Newtown was on King St., on the side opposite the station. It wasn't too far down...... I'm pretty sure it was before that small grassed area with benches and blue things on a column. I dunno if the shop is still there; it was about 5 years ago I saw it.

Cool, thanks. I'll see if it's still there.
Mens dress shoes - I bought mine at Big W. Changed the laces though from the synthetic type that came with them to normal cotton. I bought a casual slip on pair from there recently too which are quite good and really comfortable. The good thing is they're all cheap. The casual pair I bought were only $29.95. Vegan Wares shoes would be nice, but I could buy about 4 or 5 different pairs of synthetic shoes from Big W, Target, etc, for the price of just one pair from Vegan Wares.

What state are you in, coz I can recommend some great bread in Melbourne.

Because all the bread here (Victoria) contains emulsifier 471.
You do know that emusifier 471 can be vegan, don't you?

I've only ever seen vegetable 471.
Watch out for preservative 282.... that is usually derived from whey.

OK this is random but... are dart boards illegal in NSW? Why aren't there any dart boards around here in pubs???
I've seen dart boards. They are kind of uncommon, but I've seen them. Have you seen the weird electronic ones?

ugh, yes -- they have those in a lot of bars in the US
I miss darts... I'm actually surprised they aren't more common here, considering what a pub culture there is.

I was starting to think perhaps they were illegal or something; I've never seen a single dartboard around. I thought maybe some people were injured from them or something... :p

Looking for dart boards in NSW? They're hidden under the enlarged photos of John Howard's face.

Bringing the Aussie thread back to the top of the list :D
I have one word for a conversation starter:
Schapelle.

I think the Indonesian judicial system need to get their priorities right - 2 year sentence for the Bali bombers, who killed hundreds of people and a 20 year sentence for 4kg of dope that they haven't even proven she did.
As for Schapelle, I believe she is innocent. Why would you smuggle dope over there? I could understand bringing it back here...it makes no sense. However even if she did do it, hasn't she been punished enough? It isn't fair.
BRING SCHAPELLE HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
