$10 for 3 800ml longnecks at 5.9% alcohol?

How is Stones Mac vegan while Stones Original is only vegetarian? Stones Mac is Stones Original mixed with whiskey.

Kurmudgeon

Hang on... is VB 5.9%? It's at least 5%, I know that.

Kurmudgeon

That's probably a typo.

Kiz

From memory it is a flat 5%. The beer I have at the moment is from Europe. It is called Oranjeboom. It's meant to be vegan. It's damn good too! I don't know how much it normally is, they bottleshop had it on special for $13 for a sixpack.

Although the sort-by-producer list says it is VO. You'd probably have to contact them to find out.

Oh yeah, sure..... just bypass our state! Just fly right over it, D!!

Come to Melbourne! Or come up to Brisbane and hang out in the stinking heat for a couple of days ;P

(Actually it's really nice today - kinda cloudy and breezy - perfect Invasion Day weather!

I just read that alcohol list. Damn! Carlton, VB, and Cascade are all not even vegetarian! Looks like it's Coopers and Vodka for me.

Melbourne is the best city in Australia (recent study found), while Sydney is possibly the worst (based on resident's well-being).

I prefer Sydney a lot more city-wise (CBD, opera house, the harbour, the gardens, oxford and pitt street etc) but I do think Melbourne wins suburb-wise.

So it looks like our alternative Prime Minister is going to be Beazely. WTF was the carry-on regarding Julia Gillard, though? So she's single and childless and has an unremarkable kitchen. WTF!? Who friggin' CARES!? Anti-family right-wing Liberal morons, that is who! This country's government is pushing for family; have one for mum (make that "mom"), one for dad, and one for the country!

This is one of the few times I have agreed with the right-wing pro-US Miranda Divine. Scary!

OHG this Veggieboards thing actually works and people respond to my message [I previously used to post on Veganlist but that is just NOT working anymore...hasn't for months....]!

Thanks to you all to responding!

Descentia I'd love you to show me how to put my own pic on the side panel there...aaah, what was it called, was it "Avatar"???? hehehehehe I'll post to you soon for sure about it and thank you again!

I'm so pleased that no one has gone 'errr yuck Blacktown.....' and some of you live near or have been there, that it so brilliant!

Iceflower, where in Parra do you live ? I work in Parramatta and have discovered the "The Original Diet" health food shop which is all vegan apart from the odd bit of honey here and there....There's also two fantastic Indian vegetarian restaurants which are my choice to eat at during lunch!

Kurmudgeon, you used to hang out here [ie Blacktown]!??? Wow, I am so pleased that other veggies have walked along the path down here!!!

Anyway, I look forward to being more 'active' within this community, I just need to get my act together a bit.... Anyone planning on going to next weeks Animal Liberation meeting on Tuesday in Sydney ????

BTW Coopers is a brilliant vegan Australian beer. I haven't seen them advertising anything to put me off.

This post is toooooo long so I'll sign off now...cheers!

Yummy bars not vegan. SH*T!!! I am so pissed off. I emailed them and everything and they told me they were. Far out. I ate one yesterday. How vigilant do you have to be for Gods sake.

GRRRRRRRRR

BTW: I got free tickets to Melbourne Big Day Out - so if anyone needs tickets to it I have a few I am selling cheap. PM me.

Hey Glen :)

Where do you work in Parramatta? What do you do?

I just moved to North Parramatta. I've been to one of those little Veg Indians ones...I think it was 'Deb's Biriyani' ??. Theres also a great Indian on the main street in Pendle Hill..lots of different foods you don't normally find in Indian resteraunts (thali, chaats, dosas) and they have a lot of veggie options.

If you ever venture into Westfield, up on level 5, just to the left of Woolworths there is an Asian supermarket called Miracle Supermarket - it's definatly worth checking out! They have vegetarian everything - chicken, shrimp, beef, duck..!

And just outside Westfield, in that little Chinatown-type strip, they sell large bags of dims sims and stuff. They have a stack of veggie options - gow gees etc, steamed buns and they taste AMAZING! Very cheap, simple dinners (and me and my dad highly suspect most of the Chinese resteraunts around cheat and by just large frozen bagfuls!)

I think I saw that place (and others) the other weekend when I was there, but I didn't think they'd have anything (I was annoyed at the crowds of people in the place and trying to get out of there ASAP so didn't bother checking anywhere).
