So long as you or your DH aren't driving (although with me backseat driving and chanting "you're in Australia; keep left!" it should be safe enough). :p

DH - dear husband??

Some other results from Acronym Finder (http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?String=exact&Acronym=DH&Find=Find) are Designated Hitter, Demon Hunter and Dental Hygienist, but I'm sticking with Dear Husband.

Anyone know if Missy Higgins is veg*n? I saw someone mention it in another forum but I can't find proof.

Did anyone watch the Sunrise morning show today and hear them slanderize the vegitarian diet. Boycot this bogan redneck show and tell your friends to as well

I never watch it anyway. But what exactly did they say?

Anyone see the new Australia Day barbecue lamb ad? Some ex-footy player calling veg*ns "long-haired dole-bludging pot-smoking hippies" who are unAustralian (although according to him it could be interpreted that vegetarians eat chicken).

i went twice to PB's in the first week and took advantage of the 2 for 1 burger deal (one of those times alone so yeah, i gutsed two burgers myself.) i'm wondering what my VIP card entitles me to.

Hmm, I have a VIP card too, if you find out the benefits let us know.

Also, if anyone knows any good vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Sydney (preferably near the city centre) can you list them, because I'm going there at the end of the month. I know of Green Gourmet, but that's all.

cheers

There's Pitt St. vegetarian restaurant, near Town Hall station. I think it is 138 or something close. I've been going there quite a bit; heaps of vegan food, and you can fill up for as little as $10.

Zenery on Druitt Street, just down a few shops from the Queen Vic building is excellent. It's not a dine-in-for-dinner type resteraunt, but they have a great selection - foods you can take home for dinner, snacks, cookies, sandwiches etc...all looks and taste amazing.

The footy ad is an ad for lamb. The guy, Sam Kekovitch or something is well known for his joke rants on The Fat. He goes off about everyone - the whole 'long haired, tofu eating, lesbian pinkos' etc. He takes the piss out of everyone though. I thought the ad was funny (albeit it was for lamb so I automatically hate it). I think by getting all upset about it you reinforce the view we are all extremely uptight.

There's Mother Chu's on Pitt Street. It's better for dinner. http://sydney.citysearch.com.au/E/V/SYDNE/0020/16/08/3.html

The Pitt St cafe Kurm mentions has *fantastic* yum cha.

there's also Purple Orchid but it's a style of chinese food I'm not entirely crazy about - lots of fried food and heavy on the meat analogues. but it's still pretty tasty. I can't seem to find it anywhere on the 'net though, but I do know it's near chinatown. hm.

I can either meet for dinner on the 31st (Monday night) or am happy with lunch on the Tuesday if that suits?

As to where - we have a hire car and my bf comes from Melbourne (although wasn't veg then so has not much idea about veg places) so we can pretty much meet anywhere you like. I am a big fan of spicy foods, Asian and ethnic foods - but would just be happy to be in a cafe/restaurant that serves a RANGE af veg*n meals. :D I wouldn't mind a place that is licensed or BYO (especially if dinner) so I can have a beer or a glass of wine. But again, I'm pretty easy.

If anyone else is interested in meeting up, feel free to PM Amy or myself. :)
