I use "Mighty Mite". It's very similare and all Australian owned and made.
Poifect. I was only aware of Marmite and Vegemite and Marmite makes me :spew:
yes there peanut nougart cake the one u eat warm is to die for
are you veg or vegan?
because i find soul mama to not have many vegan options and nothing overly special for vegans
I'm vegan. They don't have as many vegan options as vegetarian options (one vegan dessert last time I went) but what they do have is amazing. I'm drooling just thinking about it :lick:

Where do you guys do all your shopping? I see so many vegan products on http://www.vnv.org.au that I can't find anywhere, but they must sell them somewhere in Melbourne.

I've been popping in & out of this thread... it'd be nice to make some local friends since, you know, moving to another country can be a bit hard on the social aspect of life (especially considering there are 2 people in the company - me & my coworker) ... sooo... any sydney area veggies interested in doing a potluck sort of thing???? Or maybe even just doing dinner @ a veg place & going out for drinks afterward??
I need some social activity! :D

Those two places are where I do most of my shopping ^_^
I'm interested in finding vegan mock meats (one's that don't contain traces of anything), vegan jelly crystals (the 2 brands I'm aware of are OSEM and Lieber's), a vegan soy cheese besides tofutti slices that doesn't contain milk protein (King Land apparently make one that's vegan). Also just general junk like biscuits and gummy lollies and stuff like that would be good :vebo:
---------------------------------------------
Just got back from Smith Street, found some vegetarian-friendly gummy bears called "Cheery Bears" http://www.betterlivingmarketing.com.au/cheerybears.html. Anybody know if they're vegan? The only questionable thing on the back is "glazing agents" (trust me to buy something on a Saturday when all the information lines are closed  )

Thanks for that, I'll check it out next time I'm out that way.
Piedimontes have Kingland Mayo and Cream Cheese but I've never seen the soy cheese there. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough *shrugs*
Well, my boyfriend liked the bears so I'm still willing to try them ^_^ He said they weren't chewy like the real thing though which is a disappointment.
