i've just started a new snack:

sanitarium marmite (its tastes pretty similar) and nutritional yeast on bread under the grill
mmmmmmmmm

sounds good but it tastes yummy a bit like that yummy sizzlers bread they once had

the best toast snack is veg cheese on toast (melted of course) with REALLY hot baked beans or spagetti on top. The cheese goes all melty thru it.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm vegemite isn't vegan! i once participated in a long n involved discussion on the matter at the V*n Society of Queensland forum... go n look it up if u r interested. Marmite is vegan....

blue... where do you but your nutritional yeast? i can't find it in my limited crappy health shop here and i haven;t seen it at the supernmarket... is it a refrigerated thing or what? what is the texture like and wrapping etc... i would love to track some down because i hear so much about it and i reckon it's my cuppa tea...

Kat New,if you can't find nutritional yeast locally you can get it by mail order. Unfortunately, its horribly expensive at $13.77 for 200g but a little goes a long way.

wow, blue serendipity, Hong Kong, huh? When? That's so exciting. Can you speak Chinese?

The cheese I eat doesn't contain rennet, it's vegetarian, but is still made from milk. Milk is the only animal product i eat/drink. Just can't convert to that yukky soy stuff.

Has anyone seen that US show "Providence" based in Providence, Rhode Island, USA?

The episode on right now (filmed in 1999) has David Rasche (from 1986's "Sledge Hammer") playing a not-as-excitable Steve Irwin type character called "Doc Croc". And he has one of the bloody worst Aussie accents I have EVER heard!! WTF were they thinking? I KNOW that there are plenty of Aussie actors in the US; why get an American actor who can't even do our accent?

It's so embarrassing hearing it.

Ugh! That's suck a crappy programme! It's on here during the day.....

And Marmite is better than Vegemite.. By far.

OMG I went there last weekend - the queue was out the door and wrapped around the building. Their original doughnuts are sooooooo good hot. They're nothing like Aussie doughnuts nice and soft and fluffy and they're smothered in a creamy, sugary glaze. :naughty: I ate about 4 in one sitting and still didn' fill full like you do with Aussie doughnuts. No more though... damn

Veg*n groups in Sydney

Anyone know of veg*n groups in and around Sydney? I don't know ANYONE that is veg*n and I'm feeling a bit isolated right now. My friends are totally fine with it but this place is the only outlet for questions and the like.

Sorry brisbanite here.

Hey is our gathering still going ahead? Are we just waiting for shewolf to get back to organise it?

They meet once a month. I've yet to attend (slacker).

Do you mean the link isn't working?

The next one, it says, is at East Sydney. Is that like Bondi?

I'd go if other Sydney VBers went. Then I might actually talk..... although I'm usually more sociable around veg*ns anyway, since we can whine about the same things. ;)

I've been starved of (face-to-face) contact with veg*ns for a long time (through no fault but my own).

So are any Sydney VBers going to go to the APE night on July 16? I'll go if someone else does. Well..... if I can find East Sydney.

Yeah I'm thinking about it. too bad East Sydney is such a pain to get to. Maybe we should make the Dulwich Hill one (the next one in August) a mini-VB meet up?

Hey, back, but have a lot to catch up on, so I might not be around as much... is everyone still up for a gathering though?

Well I thought the other day that we could have a mini-vb'ers meet up - the Sydney folk at the next APE project do. See post above yours.

Anyone?

<edited to add>

Plus now I know where Kurm lives he has no excuse not to go - "its too far" - "don't be a wuss its only 10 mins from where I have to leave from", "but I don't know how to get there" - "follow me you lazy bastard" heehee I didn't realise I had multi-personality disorder until this morning.
