I found some Borg's vegetarian (curried vegetable) pastries in the supermarket down the road. That dump is usually pretty useless.... maybe they are improving.

you have to try the spinach and tofu ones they rock

Kurmudgeon

This dump will never get them. A trip to the city seems required.

those pastries sound great!
and kurm your recipe sounds good too. i'll keep it in mind.

we made small pastries once with mushrooms, leek, spinach, sunflower kernels in puff pastry and baked in the oven. so so yummy!

curry ones too! cool!

like your recipe kurm... and i love mushies, in moderation that is... (you know, too much of a good thing... you never know what too many mushies could do, they are pretty hardcore, might fry my insides..... hmmm..... ;))

what do you use for the pastry base... i never make pastries and i am clueless.... a frozen sort or home made....?!

i can now proudly declare to you all that i am no longer addicted to big brother....

thankyou! *bows*... twas hard to do, but i managed...

actually not so hard 2 do now, the most interesting people have left.........

So, Aussies, who's had a vegemite sandwich today? I have one right now (at 1am).

And who's looking forward to this week? A new Opposition leader.... ooo-eee! (as the 'Gurus sang).

Did Beazley win? Bloody hell...

I'm looking forward to this week coz I'm going overseas on Thursday.

Kurmudgeon
06-15-03, 12:03 AM
Oops, I didn't mean to imply he won. I should have said "Will we have a new Opposition leader?"

Kat New
06-15-03, 12:29 AM
i don't reckon he'll be successful...

all this labor infighting gives me the ****s.

they should just break into two new exciting parties and be done with it. shake up the scene a bit, give us something INTERESTING to watch within national politics...

i used to love beazley but now i think he's succumbed to this pressure to challenge unnecessarily... better to quit with his noble reputation intact...

thoughts?

shewolf, when you are in the US don't be shocked if you hear them say "fanny" somewhat innocently, as it means something else there. If they say "spoof", burst out laughing (but don't let them know why).

Do any Aussies find some of the lyrics to Rolf Harris' "Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport" somewhat racist?

Kat New

Kurm...

all i know is that one of th moste awesome experiences of my life was seeig THE ROLF in full, unabashed spectacular at the glastonbury festivale in 2000. stagedivers an all. i've neverv seen anything like it b4 or since.

rolf rox

but i haven't analysed the lyrics...

i hope they are not racist....

Well, the ones that go something like "let me Abos go loose, they're of no further use"..... if a song came out with that these days there'd probably be a much different reaction.

Kurm, I heard on the news last night that they hadn't yet voted and felt stupid! LOL

I found the borgs pastries too! Have to try them when I get back. Also, I know that to them fanny is bum and I doubt I'll hear spoof... :D

Does he really say that? That is awful...

"Let the Abos go loose, Bruce
Let the Abos go loose.

They're of no further use Bruce,
Let the Abos go loose."

I was a kid when this ditty was released and I can remember it did cause a stir even then.

Huh.... this Thursday the first Krispy Kreme donuts store opens in Australia. :(

What's a Krispy Kreme Donuts store? Is it like Dunkin Donuts? What's wrong with them? I know they sell hotdogs and stuff too.... but there's no meat in the donuts.

I hate marmite.
I mean, I don't like Kraft, but I can't stand marmite.

oh, and I didn't say before Kurm, but I had Vegemite toast at the very same time you posted that.

Alpaca, do you load the (vegan) margarine on the toast and as it melts mix the vegemite in with it? Hmmmmm.... yummmm! :)
