I could probably get by with $100 for a return rail ticket (although that 10 hour journey SUX on the train) and I know where I can stay for $15 a night.
When I was in Melbourne though I found motorists weren't as helpful as Sydney motorists when hitch-hiking. I also found loitering down there is frowned upon, whereas up here I loiter everywhere.
What exactly do you mean by loiterring?
What about sydney are there many good veg restaurants there?

Hehe, Kurm the loiterer. Maybe it was that stormtrooper helmet.
I'm cool if it's not my hometown, I don't get out of QLD much. Sydney is a bit smelly, I like Melbourne, but somewhere more exotic would be nice! Like... Hobart! :D

Yup! :) I haven't been to Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Canberra or Hobart of all the capitals. My I'm sad! Only Bris, Melb and Syd. But who says we have to go to a capital?

Sydney is smelly? I think Sydney's not too bad. If I could choose, I'd choose to live in Melbourne though.
I've been to Canberra quite a bit (we went there often on School excursions) and to Brisbane when I was 1 year old (so I don't recall that).
What about meeting at Uluru?

LOL Uluru would be cool! I thought of suggesting Alice Springs but realised there wouldn't be many veg options.
Canberra does seem a little noring for a meeting... i like the idea of Melbourne even though I've been there... I didn't do much looking around.
Ooops. Edited to correct a word!

Oh, and sorry Kurm, the time I was in Sydney I couldn't breathe from the car pollution, it may have just been a bad day but I was in the car trying to escape my parent's smoking with the window down only to be choking from the air...

Now that I think about it, Canberra is a little inactive.
Melbourne is looking good . . .

Melbourne is definitely the veg-friendliest city out of all the cities I have been to (which is only Sydney and Melbourne anyway).
I like the trams, too, and the atmosphere of the place.

I had a database assignment due at Midnight..... I've just started the 3rd part, which is to design 7 databases for ficticious businesses. I am gonna feel like crap in the morning, and will have to do some major sucking up to not lose marks for lateness (I'll say my Internet connection was down all night).
Hey all.
Sorry to interrupt the conversation (Thank God it's veered away from BB), but I just thought I'd introduce myself as a fellow Aussie.
Western Australia, small town somewhat near Perth.
G'day y'all.
And while I'm here, who else is a Steve Irwin fan?:D

Hey all. So we're planning a big Aussie meet-up huh? Well there's most QLDers, so let's all jet up to the Great Barrier Reef!!!
I'm going to Sydney this Summer. Who's in Sydney?
My idea of North QLD rocks!!! It looks so beautiful up there and it's still exotic for Shewolf :)
