when we "get away" we go home to North Bay where we grew up to visit our families and friends. but it's not so much getting away as just different crap in a different place.
as much as i love my roommate sometimes i have to get away from him for a bit to prevent fights, but then i get to sit and watch my mom and brother fight it out instead.

one of these days i'm gonna take a REAL vacation

oh thanks AuroraLily, it won't be for quite a while i'm sure but i think i could really do this. i just realized i should contact the hemp guy in Sudbury and offer to sell his stuff when i'm close to up and running. i wouldn't make profit off it but i could get him to advertise my site and this way he wouldn't need a site of his own. brilliant!

Everyone gets busy the exact moments I am bored. I have a bit of a lull in my workload at the moment so I have been spending way too much time on VB. I imagine you are busy getting going again with school.... and the book store lineups can't help matters!

Does anyone know of a vegan margarine? I found a few recipes in How It All Vegan, and they call for margarine. I'm in SW Ontario and can't seem to find anything.

Hmmm I am from the Niagara region...I found a (light) margarine that may be vegan..but I'm not sure. The only ingredients that might not be are Vitamin D, Vitamin A and tocopherol. Are any of those animal-derived? (Sorry, the only thing I usually check for is gelatin, which is not present in this brand) It's Master Choice and it's from A and P or DOminion or Ultramart stores.

Hey ma' fellow Ontarians! I'm from Ottawa, but I work/study in Waterloo. I'm hoping to go home one day soon enough, but for now I'm stuck! Nice to meet you all! :)

Hi Adams! Where is Ottawa are you?

Adams
01-18-04, 11:54 AM
Well, I've lived all over Ottawa. I started in Kanata, then moved to South Keys, then moved to Stittsville (go Urban Sprawl!), and finally settled in the Sandy Hill area (near Ottawa U). That was definitely the best of the bunch.

Then I had to leave Ottawa to go back to school! :( So now I have no place there at all. If/when I return it'll probably be back to Sandy Hill or maybe by Richmond road near Bayshore.

So you're in the South Keys area too? Have you ever been to Govindas (http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/searchCustomer.do?type=MAP&what=govindas&listingId=15396853&step=more&srchtype=business&city=)? It's probably my favourite restaurant in town! It's also the cheapest! :D $7 incl. all you can eat vegan buffet! :lick:

By the way, can you tell me what happened to The Table at Dalhousie and Murray? I went there for dinner over the Christmas break and there was a note on the door from the "landlords" saying the locks have been changed for security reasons. It didn't look like they closed shop and moved out, so I'm fully confused. Got any ideas?

I live in Barrhavan right now but my husband and I are looking at houses around St. Laurent. I've never been to Govindas although it's on my list of must-go-to places! I hear it's awesome! I have no idea what happened to the Table at Dalhousie and Murray. I haven't been to that one but I've been to the Table on Wellington near Holland as well as the Green Door. I'll have to see if I can find out what happened to the Table. I enjoy their restaurants.
What are you studying at Waterloo?

What are you studying at Waterloo? I study Computer Science! :help: Hehehe.. :p

If you want to find out what happened to the other Table, then ask the owner at the one on Holland and Wellington. He should know.

Where is Barrhavan anyway? Even though I've lived in Ottawa most of my life, and I think I have relatives out there, I still have no idea where that is. :p How do you get there? St. Laurent is a good location! Anything next to the 401 and the transit way is useful.
