Try emailing the Toronto Vegetarian Association at: tva@veg.ca or call them at: (416) 544 - 9800. They have lots of information about vegetarian groups and events in other cities.

My recommendations are...
- check out the local universities/colleges and see if they have any animal rights/environmental groups.
- i think there's at least one vegetarian restaurant in london. you can try going in there and see what the employees know. you can find restaurants in your area at: www.veg.ca/directory
- if you can't find anything, try starting your own group! promote your groups at supermarkets, schools, vegetarian restaurants, health food stores, etc. if u need help with ideas and info about starting a group, check out the activism section of veggieboards

Good Luck!!

Hey all,
just a quick (late) hello from London Ontario.
My wife and I are long-term vegans and very outdoorsy types.
We are very active and share our lives with a sweet doggy (see avatar).
Nice to see so many people on the board!

Hi All,
I was a member and used to post a couple of years ago but I kind of forgot about this place. I couldn't get my old password to work so I've re-registered. I'm in Windsor, Ontario. The avatar is a picture of my wonderful Border Collie, Olive.

Hi guys. I'm sorry to hear that SARS has affected you negatively. Wendy, I especially feel bad for you. I hope everything works out and we aren't touched with such an aweful virus again.

I just wanted to let you all know that there is a anti-meat protest going on in places throughout Ontario on March 20th sponsored by PETA. Its focus is on the treatment of animals raised for slaughter. Check out the website for more info! kiss, hug, peace out!

Hey fellow Londoners.. has anyone been to Zen Gardens yet? I'm interested to know people's opinions.

skarrlett, Zen Gardens is super-fab! I love it there... its not the cheapest place (i am a starving student after-all) so I've only been twice. Its a really great atmosophere, and the people there are so nice. It only has oriental food, so if you like that, you'll probably really like it.

ooooh, now i wanna go....

Zen Gardens is amazing! I drove two hours in a snowstorm last week just to have lunch there.

Still haven't checked it out. What's the address for Zen Gardens? I'm from Woodstock so I'm in London quite a bit.

Woodstock? Cool.. I grew up there. I moved to London about 4 years ago.
Zen Gardens is on Dundas St. across from the Delta Armouries. Dundas & Wellington.

i don't know the exact address, but its on Dundas, between Colburn and Waterloo... right beside the Budapest, you can't miss it

The vegan chicken balls at Zen Garden are the best, although the last time they didn't cook them enough. It was a night of UFC and vegan fried goodness.

How many people on here live in or near London (including surrounding towns.. St. Thomas, Stratford, Woodstock etc.)? Speak up, it's nice to know others are around this area.

I'm new to this messageboard, and I wanted to say hello to my fellow canucks first! I'm in Cambridge, ON - not particularly a veg-friendly town, but I'm making due quite nicely.

 SOMEONE HERE IS FROM LAMEBRIDGE?!?!?! .... Wow, this is crazy.

Anyways, as you can tell from my response.. I am from Cambridge.

And MeatIsMurder is certianly right.. Cambridge is not veg friendly at all. :(

Recently renovated house, now filled up except for one room on the 3rd
floor. The house was built in 1895 and still has much of the original
Victorian moldings, plaster ceilings and walls. New appliances,
bathrooms, hardwood flooring, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, etc.

The room is just under 100 sq ft, and includes a large closet with
mirror doors. It's enough space for a double bed, desk, and maybe a
small table or bookshelf. There's a really big window.

On Harbord St at Bathurst, 5 minutes from the subway. $500 rent
includes internet, laundry, and all utilities. Also, central air
conditioning, which will be nice in the summertime!

You would be a good fit for this household if you:
1) are vegetarian/vegan (pretty obvious)
2) are in your 20s or early 30s - student or young professional
3) like cats (there are three, although they pretty much stay in their
own rooms)
4) appreciate old houses (like plaster ceilings and walls, large door
frames and baseboards, large windows, etc. )
5) are a non-smoker
6) are friendly and social, but not a loud party animal
7) looking for a long-term home, move in date May 1 or before

Email for more informatin or to set up a time to view.

hey if any of you happen to come across a boston terrier or french bulldog up for adoption at local shelters please let me know :)
we've settled on either of those 2 breeds but we don't want to go through a breeder. having a hard time finding them online. oh, they don't have to be purebred but we'd prefer young/puppies.
petfinder didn't have anything :(
