Hey, it turns out I *am* moving to Halifax in September! Imagine that. I'll still be going to school in Sackville (NB, not Lower Sackville), but I'll be there for summers and stuff.
Rainlily: Pictou county, eh? I have a friend who lives in Trenton! (that's Pictou County, right?).

"I'm going to be vacationing on Cape Breton in August"
hey that's great. There's painting's in these shops calle Anna Gloria in Annapolis Royal and one in Lunenburg.
I'm wondering if you are taking the ferry from Bar Harbour ,Maine (oops, guess that's Bar Barbor ;-) ) to Yarmouth NS, or driving through New Brunswick and getting the shorter ferry from St John NB to Digby NS. If you go to Digby, Annapolis Royal is like 30 minute drive away.
If you drive all the way around through New Brusnwick into Nova Scotia, these two places are quite a ways away in the opposite direction from Cape Breton ;-)

Hey! I'm from Halifax aswell :)
Great Oceans is an awesome place to shop, it's at the top of Quinpool. There's another place on the corner of Agricola and Young Street, I forget what it's called, but it's pretty good too, but it's mainly a supplement type store, but Great Oceans is more of a Grocery Store.
Satisfaction Feast is a YUMMY Veggie Restaurant downtown, I'm not sure of the street name, but I think it's by Blowers Street, close to The Pizza Corner. Try the Carrot Cake :lick:

I don't live in N.S., but I vacationed there this summer and fell in love with Lunenburg. The Cabot Trail was amazing, I hope to go back and camp/bike around it. Cheticamp was a neat cultural experience (I felt so weird being one of the few people who didn't speak French) and Halifax seemed like a fun city. There were some very good looking guys up at the Citadel. Anyone go to Dalhousie University? I think it would be so much fun to go to school there in a few years...

Yeah, Great Oceans is pretty much the place to go. I haven't been there since I moved over to Dartmouth though...I've surprizingly never been to Satisfaction Feast. I really do need to go sometime...

Thats so neat that there are so many people on here from Halifax (or around there.)
You should definitely check out Satisfaction Feast, it owns, they have great dhal, veggie burgers, and sadwiches, among other things, it's all good. Heartwood on Quinpool road is also awesome, and pretty much everything they have there is vegan too. :sheep:

They've got two really awesome veggie burgers there. My omni friend said that he enjoyed the veggie buger there better than real ones! they've also got nice potato fry type things and nachos and all kinds of junk like that that everyone can enjoy! :beatnik:

hey, I'm from Manitoba, but I want to cycle around Nova Scotia and PEI next summer. Anyone interested in joining me? It will actually be my first cycling trip, so I'm not experienced in that kind of travelling, but I want to do it, even if it takes me a while.
I've been to the maritimes twice before and love the scenery and the people there, so I need to go back soon. If anyone here is a cyclist and wants to travel with me or at least give me some advice about cycling in NS, pm me.
