same as saint-john/rothesay in fact we just got our only video game shop replaced with a meat market.. lovely. They have veal painted on their window -_-

Also all of our local farmers markets/fruit stand now offer meat, joy .

Taj Mahal said they had no vegan food when i called T.T

Hm. I'm not sure what they would put in their meals that wouldn't make them vegan. Indian recipes are known for being very veg* friendly. Maybe they use a animal-based broth, or eggs. I don't think they use any milk or cream, but maybe.

In any case, they have *tons* of vegetarian dishes. I'll have to ask them about their vegan options next time.

A fruit stand that offers... meat? :) Ok. Ok, that's *wrong*... but also... funny. Who considers meat to be a fruit?

Oh dear.

I have to go to a wedding in Shediac in two weeks.

On a scale of one to ten, how hungry am I going to be when I get home?

Cheers!

Quite.

No seriously. Shediac isn't all too far from Moncton. Perhaps you could make a foray into the city to visit Calactus Cafe. Really good vegetarian meals, and everything on the menu can be made vegan. I'm not familiar with the grocery stores in Moncton, but even the ones here in Miramichi (much smaller place) have a decent (though not great) selection of vegetarian stuff. There would definitely be some Yves veggie meats if you are having a BBQ, and they would have soy milk and the like.

I've been staying in Miramichi since April, and it is a bit tougher to get things here that I was getting in other places (no Vegenaise, but I brought enough with me, no tahini, no good veg*n friendly restaurants, etc). But I've managed. It's certainly do-able, it just takes a bit more work :)

Thanks!

I'm only there for four days, and a man can only eat so many Luna bars. Especially since they say they're for women right on the wrapper. Don't wanna eat too many and take the chance I'll wake up one morning having sprouted breasts; I'd never leave the house.

We don't have a car while there, but I'm certainly going to see if I can't get to the Calactus Cafe someway, somehow early and grab an extra meal or so to go and see if the Bed & Breakfast can find a little room in their fridge for me.

Cheers!

If there's some way for you to get into Moncton and raid their grocery stores, you should be fine :)

Have a good time!!

Hey everyone I thought I'd reintroduce myself since it's been many years since I've been here.Currently in Moncton. I use to be known as a member called Squirt22. I went back to omni ways due to lack of support and knowledge and career conflicts. :spew: I managed a gym and wanted me to teach a high protein diet to the girls. I am a teacher that leads by example so doing this on a veggie diet was impossible. :( Since then I have left my job managing the gym and like many other lucky Nbrunswickers ..I'm in a darn call center lol. I have done some soul searching (so to speak) and returned to my veggie ways :) I met a wonderful and supportive person and am learning new things each day. I am more prepared this time around and am more determined now to continue life as a veggie. I feel 100% better as well as happier :)

yay! Welcome back :huggles:

Which call center are you working in? (damn those places and their sucking of out souls lol) .. speaking of call centers i'm off to work! :loves:

Glad to hear your back and veggie! Hope things continue to go well for you ! ^_^

As if I wasn't dreading this trip already, I just found out they're not having an open bar at the wedding.

Oh, and the bride-to-be — a very sweet if oft times WAAAAAAAAAAY too serious — girl sent me this email with the subject "Cheesecake."

Since you won't be eating the dessert at the reception, would you like something vegan-friendly? They have only jello and fruit salad to offer however...

Guess which one I picked. :)

Oh well. It was nice of her to ask.

Anyway, thanks for the help you guys. I've always said New Brunswick veg*ns were amongst the best in New Brunswick, and this just proves it. :)

Cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone :D very glad to be back...Bad I'm working at UPS. I think I've work at almost all the call centers in Moncton and by far UPS is the best, although I'm hating the call center field..I want a more reward job something I can be proud of doing.
Tj WE New Brunswickers are always friendly folk..but becareful in Moncton..the driving is horrible... I got caught off by some psycho driver on Monday and to add insult to the injury she had this sticker that said I love beef in fine print I support the beef industry ... Grr some people

Welcome back :)

But if you think Moncton drivers are bad.. hop on over to Charlottetown sometime. I arrived here yesterday after being away for 4 months, and I had *almost* forgotten how bad the drivers are.

Yup! And some beautiful scenery to boot, especially this time of year. Not much else here (though some would disagree with that).
