What do others consider the best place to do grocery shopping in Vancouver? I am new to this city (from the states) and curious where others do weekly shopping. Any help would be appreciated.

The one I hear of most often is Capers. There are four of them. Just scroll down from the link and click on "Natural Food Stores".
Capers or Choices. There are a couple places on Commercial that are pretty good too.

There's a shop called "Famous Foods" on Kingsway which I love - has a lot of vegan and natural products. I get my Vegan Gluten Free Icecream from there - best stuff ever.

I live in Penticton, and I am beginning to feel like the only Vegan in the Okanagan!
Not sure if everyone is aware, but for those living on the island there's The Earthsave Canada Taste of Health Food & Lifestyle Festival going on in Victoria September 26,27 & 28. It looks like it'll be awesome!!! Howard Lyman (www.madcowboy.com) will be speaking, as well as Isa Chandra Moskowitz will be doing some cooking demonstrations, and there's a bunch of other speakers too. I can't wait!!!

According to the website this is going to be in Vancouver, not Victoria.
Where: Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC, V5N 4E4. Access by bus, sky train (5-10 minute walk), car (street parking), or bike.

Yes, sorry, Vancouver! Must have read it wrong :(
No Karma Kitty there are a few other vegans in the Okanagan. I have been vegan for 30 years and have a wife and three children who are as well. But we are few and far between for sure. I have a friend who is 97 in Kelowna who also is a vegan!! Imagine that!!

:hi: I'm a newbie vegetarian living on the island, moving to a gulf island at the end of the month... I am used to cooking without eggs or dairy cause my son has food allergies, so thought initially it would be a breeze to go vegan. Turns out I'm a wee bit attached to my feta. :lick:
Hi I'm from Squamish. It rains here alot.

Just wanted to say "Hi Everyone!" I'm vegan and live up in the Bulkley Valley (Smithers/Telkwa) with my husband (not-veg, but very willing to eat whatever I cook :)) and my three legged crazy dog.
Have a great day,
T

I mentioned it a few pages back, but I'm in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island!
Hey Mas, I know you asked like MONTHS ago, but I found veganaise (not that brand, but vegan mayo none-the-less) at the health food store on Bowen. I think it's called Charlie Brown's.
You probably already found it though, as you asked a long time ago :P
