I saw that billboard about a year ago when I was in Milwaukee. It surprised me, too. When is the Thanksgiving dinner? Is MARV hosting it?
The dinner is this sunday. You have to register before thursday.
Details are on Marv's site: http://marveg.tripod.com.
We have been going for several years now.
It's really nice. Usually about 150 people show up.
Hmmm, will have to talk to hubby about this. How long do these usually last? We would have to get home relatively early so the kids can get to bed.

Hi Moonflower!! :hi:
Thanks for letting us know about the store in Racine. :)
I've never been to that bakery, but I have had their stuff from the Outpost. Very good! :lick: Is Alterra a restaurant? My hubby & I are going to a Bucks game at the end of January and wanted to go out to eat somewhere before the game. If we can't find a good restaurant, we might just eat something from the deli at the Outpost.
Alterra is a coffee shop that is based out of Milwaukee. The coffee is fairtrade and they sell it at places like B&B, Boulangerie, etc.
They have soups, salads, sandwiches, muffins, etc.
The main location is on Prospect near the movie theatre (you can see all the stuff that they grind the beans with, since they do that at that location)
BUT I would recomend going to the new location along the lakefrount, kinda down from B&B. I don't remember the address. Anyway, it is in an old pumping station and it's pretty cool inside with 3 floors and lots of alcoves. They also have Alterra's at Mayfair mall, Bayshore mall, and a few other places I think. They are not strictly veggie, but generally have a good assortment when I am in.
Here are the locations - I am sure if you call they can tell you the menu.

Molly, I tried to send you a message but it didn't work.
"Flower has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."
Is your inbox full?
I hope you can make it to one of the regular potlucks.
Flower, I got the same message as Wanda.
Again, sorry about that guys! Naughty me- :whack:
Wanda, how did the dinner go last night? To make up for not being able to go, I made a vegan feast for my hubby, kids & I. Still, it would have been so nice to go to that dinner. :(
We had a really good time. I always love being in the presence of so many vegetarians.
The table with food was very impressive. So many choices, but way too small plates. Don't they understand that vegans eat a lot?
I brought carob chip blondies (recipe on my site!). I made 4 times the recipe... all gone. Luckily I was smart enough to keep 4 behind for us.
Do try to make it to one of the potlucks.

Hi savethepigs! :hi: Welcome to VB!! Out of all the veg online communities I've been to, I've only found one male that lives in Madison & he's married. Good luck, though!

My friend lives in Whitefish Bay (near Milwaukee) and needs to give her bunny to a good home. It is a 2 1/2 year old, very gentle, female, spotted Holland Lop named Matzo Ball. Unfortunately, her new dog, Bubbles, is trying to eat it and it can't get out of the cage for the play time it needs.
It is free to a good home, or suggestions on shelters are welcome. Please email me for more info on Matzo Ball -or to offer advice on shelters.
Hey moonflower- has your friend found a home for her bunny yet? I wish I could have helped you out. :(

Thanks for the info Wanda!
Hi savethepigs, do you live near the Twin Cities, MN? There are some local veggie groups where you might find some single veg*n guys.
I am right on the border between MN & WI off Hwy 94, so if you're nearby, I might be able to help you out!
Slynny- I tried pm'ing you, but found that you had your function turned off. I think I gave you the wrong email address. If there is a 5 in the address, please change that to a 6. Sorry for any confusion! PM me soon!
I think I fixed things...check your pms :)

No. He is still there. : (
No. He is still there. : (
That's too bad. :( Keep me updated!
BTW- has anyone been to the new Vegan Essentials store yet?
Hubby & I saw the Bucks last Friday night & stopped at the Outpost before going to the Bradley Center. Man, has that place ever changed! The meat section has grown a lot & they don't carry so many things I used to get from there. I did buy a few things, but definitely not as much as I used to. Very disappointing.
Nope, haven't been there yet. I know what you mean about the Outpost, when I heard they were remodling I expected it meant a better vegitarian variety...not more room for meat:( Still, they have things I can't get anywhere else.
We're actually part of the 'owner' program at the Outpost.
When they started selling more meat and fish I told my husband I wanted to cancel our ownership. But he told me that that would be difficult, since we're owners for life.
I haven't been to the vegan essentials store yet either. And we only live about 15 minutes away. These last months have just been so hectic. We haven't even been to the last two Marv potlucks. Hopefully we make it next time.
Howard Lyman is coming to town!!!!!
If you didn't know yet, than look here (http://marveg.tripod.com/index.html) for more info.

That's so cool, but I won't be able to make it. Thanks for letting us know, Wanda! Are you going?
Are you going?
I hope so. I managed to go to Neal Barnard when he came to town recently. I really want to see Howard Lyman again. The last time I saw him was in 1995.
