Thanks for the suggestion, DreamWavez...I went to UW-Madison for a year before I transfered to Beloit College. Unfortunately, I was an omni back then....but from what I know, you're 100% right. Again, unfortunately, I don't have a car. Oh well, I'll be in NYC/Ann Arbor/Portland for the next year and a half after this term ends (unless I do an honors term) so much more veg friendly there than Beloit.

I'm over in Beloit for school......it's disappointing to go to the local CubFoods and not find any Amy's frozen meals. I'd like to eat them for sunday dinner. Any veg in Beloit?

Have you tryed shopping at Woodman's....I'll bet they have a better selection of vegetarian stuff. I go to the one in Green Bay and I get a bunch of things that I can't find here in the Milwaukee area.

Jewel of India

The subtle lure of well-blended spices, the wide variety of fresh flatbreads, and even the nutty flavor of basmati rice all combine to make this exotic restaurant an ideal destination for vegan diners seeking adventurous fare. The menu also includes delicious baked mild curries, vegetable fritters, and wonderful samosas. The daily lunch buffet offers a great chance to sample a large spectrum of the menu, and is a great value at $7.95 (includes tea).

Whether you are a long-time vegan who wants to try a new place, or a new vegan, curious, or just willing to try, you will not want to miss this awesome dining experience.

So c'mon out Wisconsin veggies and leave the Chicago Vegan Meetup alone, they have enough people already. ;)

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) uses 60 live dogs each spring in a first-year physiology course. At the end of the class, the dogs are killed.
If you want to help, you can find more information on the PCRM website at this link (http://www.pcrm.org/resch/meded/mcw_doglab/).

PCRM and HSUS are also organizing a protest on January 25th at 12:00 pm at the Milwaukee Medical College 87001 Watertown Plank Rd.

Hi Carnelian! Sorry, I haven't been here in a while and it looks like I forgot to pay my dues.....so my message box went from 250 or whatever to 50. I'll have to take care of that.
Anyway, Shoot! I have a family B-day thing get together that day :brood:
I'll see if there is anyway I can work something out. I'll get back to you about it....check here for the message in case I'm not able to get my PM box fixed by then.

thanks for posting this. I am currently living in WI. I wonder if the AR here knows about this. I could post this on our new vegan meetup.

Edit: I just noticed that Wanda had posted this 3 weeks ago but for one for January. :)

I'm in West Allis :) 2 questions for the rest of you

1) Know of any veg friendly restaurants NOT downtown? I haven't eaten out since I became vegetarian...it's getting desperate! The nearest I've been able to find is the Elm Grove Inn in which only has 3 offerings at $14 a plate...still deciding if I want to visit them.

2) Has MARV disbanded? I found their website a few weeks back. Looks out of date and no response to emails :(

Hi everyone!

I'm in the Kenosha area, wondering if anyone else is around here too. I've only lived in WI for 3 years, before that I was in CA for 18 years. Since I haven't been here long and I have just started being a vegetarian I was wondering if anyone knows of any nifty places to shop or eat out.

Thanks!

Hey there! I'm a Vegan from Green Bay!
I eat at Kavarna a lot. But that's about the only place for me to eat comfortably. I hate asking to "hold... well everything." Hehe.

A friend informed me last night that the new Glass Nickel Pizza Co. on Ridge Rd has some vegan labeled options and pizzas so I'm going there this afternoon to check it out.

I tried to read through all the messages to find all the Green Bay people but there are a lot! PM me if you're from the area and maybe we can all meet up sometime!
