It may not be on their website, but it's available in stores. I've bought it at Whole Foods.
Thanks for the heads up! I've never seen it at either HFS I frequent and figured if it wasn't on the website they had ceased its production.
Though I'm not too sure I want to find it since it could lead to serious problems for my new found Self Restraint in All Areas of Overindulgence.

I'm curious, where do all of you do your grocery shopping?
I usually do a combo of Trader Joe's, Top Foods, and Costco. I occasionally make it down to Whole Foods or PCC Natural Markets but I find those to be pretty pricey.
Is anyone here a member of PCC? Is it worth it?
Are there any good grocers I need to discover? I'm in the Lynnwood area. I like to buy a lot of organic produce but I'm also trying to stay within a budget. Ideas?

I also didn't appreciate picking up some CSA info and finding out about all the meat products I could get from various farms. While on paper I can somewhat appreciate seeing that omnis have different options from the styrofoam aisles at QFC, it was poor planning to have that info at *Veg*Fest.
There was a lot of stuff that just didn't belong there, both from dietary and other perspectives. Limiting the vendors -- including the ones who got free labor by not bothering to show up themselves -- to those actually consistent with the term "Vegetarian" would spread it out a lot better, and probably even not have to have as many as *four* of them at a single table.

I generally only got to Top Foods to pick up Tings -- the Fred Meyer on 196th has more of what I want to buy. I'm only in this neighborhood temporarily, and trying to not get too entrenched, but the Food Emporium up north a bit on 99 actually has a fairly decent selection. I've never understood the Trader Joe's appeal with veg folk - any time I go there I don't find many things I can eat. I used to have a Costco card, but rarely found anything there I wanted to buy -- often I found that their choices of products to carry were lame, and that their prices weren't any lower. Having to stand in line for an hour to get out is a PITA too, though at least they now deign to accept debit cards.

I am. It's absolutely worth it. Give them their $60 up front, and you'll make it back in member discounts very quickly. Co-ops also do reciprocal membership, so it'll get you discounts at the co-op in Mt. Vernon, too.

Think about a CSA. Here's a list:

I'm on Capitol Hill and I shop regularly at Madison Market, Rainbow Grocery, and Trader Joe's. Mad Market gets the majority of my biz.
Have you been to Manna Mills? It's not as cheap as Top can be but it's a wee little HFS that has been around a good while. It's on 218th & 66th, I think. I love Manna Mills. There's something about the small little community store that just gets my heart all happy. Plus I love their bulk bins. It's the only thing I miss about working up north. Well, Manna Mills and Cafe Neo.

I didn't notice many more non-veg vendors, but I really didn't stay long. The crowd was just too much and I didn't think it was worth all the jostling.
In years past there were more non-food vendors interspersed throughout the event. This year they were shoved in the corner behind the Veg of WA melee. They deserved better placement, I thought. I'm actually more partial to seeing PAWS people than to a fifteenth vendor with their version of veggie dogs (not that I don't like the samples!).
Hopefully Veg of WA directors will find a better balance for all of it next year.

That'd be nice but given the personalities involved I don't think it's likely.

At least you don't have to BE in the recitals. (And I didn't even sign up for choir!)

Authentic Chinese: Bamboo Garden
American/Chinese: Teapot House
Thai w/buffet: Araya's
Those are my favorites, BG is near the space needle, Teapot is in the capitol hill area, and Araya's was near the university but it moved, check a few posts up.

 I sort of prefer Teapot to Bamboo Garden, but that's personal preference. There's a new Teapot at the Bellvue-Redmond interface. Cafe Flora and Carmelita are very vegan-friendly too. Wholesome Vegestasia is a new vegan Chinese place whose food reminds me of Bamboo Garden's.

I went on a wilderness trip in Washington last summer. Among other places I went to the San Juan Islands and wilderness areas. Has anyone climbed Mt. Rainier?

I've been to Orcas and San Juan islands, haven't been to Rainier yet, though I'd really like to do the Ape Cave

I'm visiting Seattle next Thursday and staying for about 10 days. I need some place to shop for food (because I'm cooking, apparently) and places to visit and go out to eat. Any suggestions?

Whereabouts? I can supply more information about resources close to where you'll be if I know where you'll be.

For those of you in the Seattle area who may not know, there is now a vegan foods & clothing shop called Sidecar across the street from Pizza Pi.
It's a small little place on the corner of 55th and the Ave that has been open about two months, I believe. Not a huge selection of grub and no fresh produce, but it's a good start and worthy of a veggie person's support in my opinion. Some shirts, some belts, some shoes, some stickers, various foods, a couch to lounge on. I 'specially recommend the Merry Hempsters lip balms. A scent to suit your every mood...
