I'll ask and see. Are there any other get-togethers (not during the middle of the day) planned?
NARN's monthly AR social will be Thursday 5/18 at On The House 1205 E Pike. There are often other NARN gatherings on evenings -- http://www.narn.org and sign up for the weekly newsletter.
I've recently been asked to take over the http://www.vegseattle.com web site, which has languished for a while. I've just made a variety of updates - suggestions are welcome.

What sort of updates did you make, Antoine? I'd never seen the site before...
It looks pretty good, rhough there's definitely more/updated veg-friendly restaurants that could be listed...
Saturday's mini-get-together is still on, eh?

I removed places like Coffee Messiah that are no more, added Wayward Coffee House, Mandalay, changed Wholesome Vegestasia to Vegetarian Bistro, etc. There are some layout details I'd like to harmonize among pages.
Are you familiar with Punjab Sweets?
We're fortunate that so many places are veg-friendly in this region. I'll be happy to add any reasonable suggestions (eg., not Canlis).
Saturday is still on as far as I know. I'll be at Araya's early for the NARN meeting and election.

I'm still working on my boss to let me at least come in late that day or something so I can at least make the NARN meeting. I would really like to become active with that group! :) I don't know how long I'll be able to stick around though...

You should of course do so with wild abandon. One of Araya's buffet dishes is blessed in this respect. :hungry:

WonderRandy; we looked for Espresso Vivace just for you, but evidently MapQuest didn't know where it was... :(
Today was FUN guys!! We'll have to do it again in July when Froggy hops in to town...
After our "Way-more-than-we-should-have-eaten" Thai Buffet, we took the kids down town and stuff, it was a BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL day!!

veg jerky, soy whipped cream, vegan cat food, stuff to make a cheezecake, vegan truffles, and I went over to mighty o to pick up some donuts for my non-vegan roommates. :D
So this michigander is considering moving to washington.
Might be going to U of W or Evergreen College. Anyone go, or went, to either of those?
I heard a rumor that the temperature is pretty mild there. Is that true? I want to escape the 100degree summers and -10 degree winters of michigan. .
If I move someone will have to show me around!!! Might be happening in a few months when school starts O.O

The summers tend to be bearably warm and the winters tolerable, usually without persistent deep snow.

Hey - keep posting around her and you'll learn more about Washington, then move to Washington and we'll give you the tour... I'm always up for tour guide...
Summers never reach 100. Winters are mild too - snow is where it should be, in the mountains...
Evergreen College is a hoot - I went there one year, back in the 80's though... it's a pretty good college and extremely "green" concious.
UW is of course, very good too. Have you been accepted there? Or just checking the place out?

Rains a lot!!!
"Rains often" is probably a better description. Many areas of the country including the midwest and east coast get more rain than the northwest in terms of volume. The northwest's rainfall is just spread out over the year more. So you could say that it "mists" or "drizzles" 7 months a year here. Anyway, keep up the stereotype please. It's gotta be helping a little with potential overpopulation of this area.

If you move here, your feet will grow webs on them and your back will be coverd in moss.
And you won't tan, you'll rust. :D
just doing my best to keep the stereotypes alive.... ;) :deal:

Ah, not a problemo... just make it up to us by heading over here to PEW-ALL-YOU-UP  some afternoon and I'll treat you to Thai... (course my KIDS will be there too! :D)
Better yet, meet up with us somewhere in July when Froggy's here... he's always game for meeting fellow VBers and hey, we have to eat SOME time... :sealed:

ROFLOL !! ya know when I was growing up in Redmond, we had one blinking red light, the 520 bridge still had a toll both, 90 didn't go through a tunnel on Mercer Island, there was still a lot of farm land and the trip from Puyalup (sp) to Seattle was wide open and no traffic. I have been pulled over for excessive speed on roads one can barely maintain the posted speed limit on any more.
I for one think we have far too many people already living here and do my best to convince people they really don't want to move to Seattle!:sunny:
In response to post about visiting, June is normally a rainy month in Seattle. It is not the spring/summer month I would recommend for a visit. Now July 5-Oct 17th is a great time of year to visit. Seafare week generally being the hottest time of our season. At least in my experinces of living (on and off) in the Seattle area since 75.
