I don't know which way off of I-5 to tell you - I have a Yahoo map...I'll just follow that.

My kids were loving the snow! They built an army of snow-peoples in our yard, and now they're praying for a "Snow Day" from school tomorrow. (I'd be just as happy if they DID have school however :brood: )

The east side of I5 toward the University of Microsoft^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HWashington. It's on the south side of the street and has its own parking lot. If the lot's full you can drive through and probably find something on the cross street.

Yep, the two lights on 522, at Maltby Rd. and Echo Lake, are being made into interchanges, which will really help traffic flow. The Echo Lake one's currently under construction. I do wish there were better transit options. There's only one bus that runs from here down to the metro area and it only runs a couple of times in the morning and in the evening. CommTrans and MetroKC and Sound Transit really would benefit everyone by merging.

That's not fair to the UW, it was here long before Microsoft..... heck I used to play in the woods where Microsofts main campus sits now.

Thanks for the directions.... no promises at this time on whether I can make though.

I sometimes wish I worked a job that would allow me to bus it; construction is all over though and busses just don't go everywhere, that and it's tough carrying everything you need on a bus..... remember that movie with Jim Belushi "Traffic School" or something like that, he was a Landscaper that had his liscensed suspended and had to take the bus..... shovels, racks, pick, trees and shrubs. :-) just doesn't work.

I have heard rumors they want to put another freeway that runs from Tacoma to Everett on the backside of Issaquah and Monroe; trying to help ease the 405 commute...... I just wish they would widen 405 to about 5 lanes each way! Maybe put the car pool lane back on the right side, so they quite screwing up traffic when they decide to get on and off the freeway. I have seen people cross 3 lanes of traffic in 20 feet, just stopping until they can get over..... stupid.

Yeah, we have snow in NB lots, but it's usually a case of looking up a few thousand feet and seeing it, not walking through it.

If lots of snow's the only requirement, there's plenty of places to choose from besides eastern wa. Nicer places that immediately come to mind include Siberia, Anarctica, buttcrack Minnesota, and Pluto.

LOL; I guess that would depend on one's definition of nicer. :-)

I didn't catch the 9" until you mentioned it; that is funny. I don't know how long you have lived in North Bend but I am pretty sure it gets snow almost every year; not as much as the pass, but it does get snow. A buddy of mine lives in Wilderness Rim and he gets snow at his house every year, that is a couple of hundred feet higher than the city itself though.

He lives about three houses up from the fire station on the left. He might just means it snows every year not that it sticks; having grown up around here we get excited anytime a flake drops. :-) Means its generally dropping at alpenta.

It's true that they were here long before, but their recent actions and policies
demonstrate a sell-out.
that and it's tough carrying everything you need on a bus.....
Yep, agreed. When I co-ordinated educational presentations for PNHS, I had one guy who helped out at just about every show, and managed to bus pretty much anywhere with a 2' cube cage. I don't know how he did it.
I have heard rumors they want to put another freeway that runs from Tacoma to Everett on the backside of Issaquah and Monroe; trying to help ease the 405 commute......
The 605 loop. I've read about it on occasion, eg. the idea that a stretch of it would run where 203 runs now, probably Fall City to Monroe. IIRC, it would violate the growth plan, and it would be very very expensive to build. I'm not sure if it'd be a good thing or not.
I just wish they would widen 405 to about 5 lanes each way!
Double-decking it might be something that happens one day, though public concern about the 99 viaduct and awareness of the double decked highway that collapsed in one of the larger California earthquakes might work against the idea. IMHO, the region should get serious about useful mass transit, and also address the cause rather than patch up the symptoms: encourage flextime to spread out the traffic, and telecommuting to reduce its volume.
