oh yeah - the 10th... I didn't have a calendar so was guessing at the date - sorry Antonio...

So let's do it! Like I said, I may not be able to get there right at noon. But yeah - that sounds good!

Delicious :lick: About fifteen people came, bringing UnTurkey, Tofurky, potatoes, veggies, pies, fruit, breads, etc. I'm finishing the leftovers of a big pan of great stuffing that someone brought.

Here are some photos
http://www.dreamsnake.net/ids/index.cgi?mode=album&album=/People/Thanksgiving%5f2005

We watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and by popular demand, some HR Pufnstuf. I gave out jars of Magic Mushroom popcorn.

 I was so hungry that day too :( Stupid tooth..

Well, there's always next year, plus the meetups and other events. Can you join us on 12/10?

Let's do Araya's.
:lick: I like the food better
:lick: My NARN card gets a 10% discount
:lick: It's quite close to the earlier committment I have that day
:lick: It's an all-you-can-eat buffet. mmmmmm black sticky rice mmmmmmm
Araya's is now at 1121 NE 45th St. in Seattle.
If I don't see anyone I recognize when I arrive, I'll try to snag a table near the door.

Would this meetup be kid friendly? I'm not thinking you'll be hanging from the chandeliers naked or anything, but suddenly having children at an event can throw a curve ball at it and I certainly understand wanting an adult conversation/environment.

Kids are fine by me. It's Araya's, it's lunch - I'm thinking (HOPING!!) there will be no naked chandelier-hanging, not on my part anyway! MERCY!

My youngest daughter (6) loves Araya's. I may end up bringing her if I can't find a babysitter, as long as y'all think kids are OK....

I now interrupt Araya's chat for this little announcement:

Puget Sound's local vegan store, Sidecar (http://www.sidecarveg.com/index.htm), is now owned by Pigs Peace Sanctuary in Stanwood so *all* their profits go to help the pigs and their buddies at the sanctuary.

Shop there and do even more good than just plain ole buying cruelty free products! Yay!

Go there before or after your meal at Araya's! Yay again! :)

Yep, as far as I'm concerned.

Adulthood is overrated :p

In Their Own Words - Stories of Chimpanzees Rescued from Research
When: Thursday, December 1st @ 7:00 - 9:30pm
Where: Shaw Room at the Seattle Center (305 Harrison St., Seattle)

Gloria Grow, founder and director of Fauna Foundation, a Canadian
chimpanzee sanctuary, and Nancy Megna, a former laboratory caregiver,
will speak at an event sponsored by Project R&R: Release and
Restitution for Chimpanzees in U.S. Laboratories (www.releasechimps.org), a campaign of the New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS), hosted by Ban Ape Research
In Their Own Words is a powerful multimedia presentation that includes
an overview of historic and current chimpanzee research coupled with
an expose of laboratory life as told through the experiences of former
laboratory and current sanctuary caregivers. Megna tells what life was
like for the chimpanzees before their rescue from the laboratories,
while Grow picks up with stories of those same chimpanzees' new lives
at the Fauna sanctuary. Through the words of people who know and care
deeply about them, the chimpanzees' stories are told.

I had maybe half an inch a couple of days ago that melted off immediately. It started snowing here today too about the same time, coming down big and wet in downtown Monroe but much less thickly at home.

On 45th? is that in the U distirict? I can not commit at this time; work scheduel, family xmas stuff and for some reason the 10th is sticking out in my mind for some reason...... anything is possible though.

I am envious 4 inches! Is that on South Hill? It seems to have stopped for now but am hoping it starts again.

I bet your glad your not in the 522 commute right now :-) That's got to be a mess right now and getting worse! Man that city has grown.

Yep.

Yeah, 522 can suck during the morning/evening rushes into/out of the urban area. They're building interchanges at the two lights, though, and incrementally widening, which will help substantially. I telecommute, though, so I rarely get stuck in it.

Telecommuting man that would be nice; I have grown very wary of the 405 parking lot. The lights? Do you mean on 522, I was wondering what was going on there, was working up in your area in early Oct for a few days, thankfully I was going against traffic.

So it's in the U Dist which side of I-5? Towards Wallingford or towards the U
