I was actually thinking about having a vegetarian/vegan thanksgiving at my house here in Everett open to all VBers in the area :)
Why don't you come to Anthony's too? We'll all meet up and eat Anthony's food and have a good time? (I love it - I'm inviting people to Anthony's house for him - HA!)

Oh - wait - we could ALL bring food - yeah - that'd be good.:hungry:

You're slipping, principessa. You called me 'Anthony' not only once but *twice* ;)

Sure, people are welcome to bring food, but I do plan to have as many pumpkin ravioli as I can crank out. Someone's working up an evite; I'll post a link when it's ready.

Darlin' - turning 40 must have affected your MATH skills too... I count THREE times...

Fine then, "Antonio" it is - seems pretty appropriate, making all that ravioli and such...

Anyone here from the Spokane area?

(yeah, I know Seattle is a better place to live, but I don't have a choice :) )

Spokane's not the edge of the earth, but you can see it from there.

Well, of course I was hoping to come to this - but as luck would have it, my folks who usually SKI on Thanksgiving Day decided to stay home (my sister is here from Florida)...

So - dammit, dammit, dammit I have to do the family-appropriate thing, as is my duty, being the eldest child and all (yeah, what a bunch of crap, I'm just whining, don't mind me) and go hang with them for the day...

AT LEAST they're vegetarian so maybe I can eat half the stuff... (stomps off to sulk and pout...)

LOL!

Sorry, Invictus, I can't help ya. I hate to recommend it, but try the Idaho thread. It's not that we don't want you, but there might be a few folks closer (bear in mind I have never looked at the Idaho thread so I have no idea if it gets any traffic).

I've known some people born around Seattle to describe Spokane as "out east".

any suggestions on what I should bring? I'm kinda new at making vegetarian/vegan stuff for holidays...most of my friends/family aren't veg, so I always get stuck eating yams and potatoes.

Well, most importantly, bring yourself. This is about people getting together, without having the spirit limited by not being able to partake of much of what's served (everything vegan, please), or the inevitable landing of the carcass Right In Front Of You. It's not a contest. Some things that come to mind might be chips & salsa/pico de gallo, fruit juice or maybe sparkling cider (Martinelli's, et al), or fresh/frozen fruit. My überblender just came in and it's killer for smoothies. While I'm not personally a mycophile, stuffed mushrooms always seem to be popular, and you Just Can't Go Wrong with pesto pasta.

mmmm pesto :lick:

"Out east"? Damn. All right, heading to the Idaho thread...

I grew up outside of Chicago, I'm not used to not being in the biggest city around

Dang. The Idaho thread has had one post a year for the past three years. I think I'll be sticking around here, even if y'all live in the good side of the state.

I went to the dentist this morning to get a filling repaired, and my dentist decided that today would be a good day to yank my wisdom tooth (damn military dentists)...so hopefully, I'll be able to eat solid food without any problems by next week. Last time I got my other wisdom tooth yanked, my face stayed swollen for a few days and I didn't eat much of anything for a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that's not the case this time.. pumpkin ravioli sounds sooo good.

You're a diamond in the rough if you're veg*n and live over there.

Hey did you know that back before the EPA cracked them down, Hanford really compromised all of the areas north and east of it, including the Spokane valley, back when it first when into operation. 20+ years of radioactive waste does not make for good ground water. That and the inbreeding, and you've got a good idea why all the people around you look and act like they do.
