Greenfestival September 18 & 19 2004 Washington DC Convention Center. www.greenfestivals.com
I also just saw an ad for United Poultry Concerns 5th Annual Forum 2004 coming up August 21st & 22nd at the Hilton Airport Norfolk Hotel.
www.upc-online.com
Apparently there will be a former chicken slaughterhouse worker, a foie gras investigator, a former chief veterinary USDA meat inspector, etc speaking. Sounds fascinating and I wish I could go! I hope someone else can go and tell me about it!

"Due to extremely heavy rain, high winds and possible flood conditions that are forecast for the Richmond area today, the festival has been cancelled. Public safety has to be our primary concern."
I was really looking forward to going today. :(

The veggiefest is on Sunday!!! I'm excited to go, it was a lot of fun last year. I'm kind of glad it got rained out because I wouldn't have been able to go 2 weeks ago. See you there!

we could choose a DC/VA area, and if everyone decides to do it again, a Baltimore location. DC/Baltimore really isn't too far away from each other.
Or even a place like Laurel or Columbia, which are pretty close to each side.
Eitherway I'm there no matter which place is decided on. :)
http://www.vegdc.com
this lists all of the veg friendly restaurants in the area.
I've gone to a lot of restaurant visits in the DC area organized by the veg*n meetup and the VSDC ( vsdc.org ).
I've noticed that if you do not use a location in VA you tend to lose a lot of folks from VA

It's in Bryan Park, in Richmond. The website is www.veggiefest.org . They have food, vendors, nonprofits, entertainment, and maybe some other stuff too, but it sounds great, and was fun last year.

I hope to see you there, Steve. I think that same :juggle: will be there.
I really liked him, he was good. I am making some of the recipes that I got at the festival today and in the upcoming days. It was dang hot, you are right. I hope the one in C'ville will not be on a hot day. Have a nice day :)

That was a crazy night...I was stuck at the hospital until about 11 pm. Some of the lab employees got stuck on the elevator for over 2 hrs, others lost their car. I actually gave someone a ride home that lives in my apt complex because his car washed away. What a mess. Anyways, the week has continued to remain busy/crazy for me, and I'm still on call until next Friday morning. :tired:
Glad everyone had a good time at veggiefest! :)

Ping me before you go. We should come up with some way to find each other there so we can at least say "Hello".
I would love to put an image of a human behind at least one name on this board.

I would love to meet both of you, but I have no idea of how to identify myslef. It is going to be a crowd of people in a big place.
Oh well, I hope you enjoy yourself.
I went last year and had a nice time.
