How did the dinner work out last night? I'm sorry again that I couldn't be there but not only did I have to work, I have a humungous Anatomy/Physiology test today so either way, I probably wouldn't have come. Hope you all had a good time and if there are plans to do it again, maybe it can be a Saturday night?

What a disaster! It was such a painful experience that we unanimously decided that we'd rather be locked individually in rooms and forced to eat hog dogs and watch hours of Tony Danza sitcom reruns than have to hang out together ever again. :)

ok, ok, we will definitely do this again (in March, perhaps), and we'll find a night that works for you.

Anyone from Virginia still around? I will be moving to Richmond in June. Is the area vegan-friendly? I'm in the process of apt hunting right now, and I don't want to end up in an ultra conservative neighborhood. Any advice on areas to check out? Thanks.

spidermonkey...it depends where your coming from if you will find Richmond to be vegan friendly! I live about an hour south of Richmond and it's much more vegan friendly than my small town!

I think overall it's a conservative city...we are in the south! VCU probably helps balance things out. Ukrops and Kroger are grocery stores that have a pretty good vegan selection. Also, check out Elwood Thompsons. It's a groovy grocery store/deli with lots of veggie options. Kind of expensive but worth it.

I live in Richmond. Another good store is Good Foods Grocery. It's similar to Ellwoods but a little smaller. :)

Thanks Ntelligentidiot. I'm actually stressing about where to live, the move etc. Do you know anything about the Richmond Vegetarian Society? Are they worth checking out? Thanks.

I just wanted to say I went to the Blue Moon Diner in C'ville and got the Veggie Burger sans cheese and mayo. I got the fruit salad instead of the fries and my Nonnie and I were very impressed with this restaurant.

Hi Christa, thanks for asking. I'm getting there. I only had one full day off after I arrived before I had to start working, so it's been a little crazy. I live close to a Ukrops, which is convenient though--pretty good veggie section for a regular grocery store. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to explore most of the city yet. Hopefully, soon. :)
