I had this yesterday/ :lick:

This tastes so good and was so like the real thing I am sure it would fool most omnivores. It comes in a plastic package and you drop it in boiling water for 10 minutes. It comes out steaming and you slap it on some Rye bread with mustard and voila Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich. Best part is that it is also vegan. This company also makes a "roast beef" which I really want to try now. It is a little on the expensive side but for vegans and vegetarians who miss the taste of meat this is a real treat.

We've had it. You're right, it is pretty "authentic," although I haven't really felt like fake meats as much lately. Our friends really like it too.

Ooh, I'm jealous! Something Canada has that we don't have! (Well, that and national health care, but that's another thread, eh?) ;)

I'm all about the fake meat. The day they make a veggie burger that taste like the "real" thing is the day I am a happy man.

I like that stuff too. I use it to make veggie pho.

Do they have the chain Milestone's or Kelsey's in TO ?
Both of these restaurants have veggie burgers that made me quadruple check with every one at the table and the waiter to make sure I wasn't given a beef burger by mistake. It really freaked me out!

Oh yeah, I love Milestone's veggie burger. Kelsey's not so much; I prefer Casey's to Kelsey's.

I like both the smoked wheat and the roast wheat products. I actually bought a package of smoked wheat today! I use them for a lot of stuff besides sandwiches.

I've seen that and I've wondered what it would be like. I'm definitely going to give it a try!
