Nah, it wasn't a money bet. I would gladly pay money. It included me driving to Oklahoma. That ain't happenin'. I was drunk when we made the bet.

Don't be sorry. You're not the dingbat that wore beige stainmagnets to a coffeeshop. I was asking for it.
Were there some storms up in OK the past couple of days?
Brandon

Sure were, Sunday night there were some pretty intense thunderstorms and a lot of wind.
Did you get em in Texas too?

Yup. There was a tornado a couple towns over. Pretty good sized hail a bit further Southeast.
I think I slept through most of the hullaballoo.

I think it was more intense North of where I am. All we got was rain and wind here. Tree limbs blew down, etc.

Are you in Norman?
Brandon

Sure am.

I don't think I've ever been to Norman, but I've been to several other places in OK. An ex of mine and I used to go camping at Lake Murray every so often. My business partner and I go to OK every year for a parks conference. It used to be at Lake Texoma, but now it is in Wagoner. We are usually pretty popular when we show up with Texas beer.

Yeah, that's a precious commodity around here.
Murray is a nice lake.
I like Norman a lot. It's the nicest place I've been/lived in OK.
Let's see, as far as TX goes, I've been to Dallas, Carrollton, Bonham, and a couple other smaller towns that my grandma lived in a long time ago. I can't for the life of me remember what they were though. I haven't been to Dallas in wow, about 12 years or so.

I plan on being in Houston and Austin in the spring. I've only been to Houston briefly and I really look forward to seeing Austin!

Early welcome to Houston! I live about 30 miles south of Houston near NASA. Depending on where exactly you are headed, there are a few decent veg*n restaurants around (we are after deep in the heart of angus beef country).

Austin is great. If I could pick one place in Texas to live, it'd be there. Alas, I'm stuck in Cowtown for the time being...
Enjoy Houston as well!

I'm kind of split between Austin and Houston (native Houstonian and still here! :D) Houston for the restaurants, especially the Indian and Mediterranean cuisines and Austin for the quirkiness, including the rest of my family there ;) But I'm also partial to the warmer and more humid climate here :)
Hay Kris, I grew up in Nassau Bay. What part of the Bay Area are you in? I'm near Meyerland these days.
Oh, and I know the best place in Houston for falafel. It's called Zabak's and it's run by the children of the couple that used to own and run Mama's Poboy (also known for their falafel.) I'm a Zabak's regular because of it :D

I'm in League City and work in the medical center! I LOVE Mediterranean food. I went to Mediteraneo Cafe on Upper Bay Rd one day. It was hilarious watching this big burly Bubba trying to order Greek food when he clearly had NO idea what the dishes were! Anyway, where is Zabak's?

I wanted to go to Zabak's the last time we were in Houston. I read a lot of reviews on the internet before we went. Too bad my traveling partner didn't feel like going out of the way to try to find it. : ( There's always next time!

Zabak's is at the corner of Fountain View and Westheimer, not far from the Galleria area. Here's a Google Map to find it easier next time :)

Another Houston person here!! Field of Greens, on West Alabama, is out of this world. Their chocolate silk tofu pie, is great. The owners are vegan and can veganize almost everything on the menu.
I will have to try Zabaks. I remember Mama's Po Boy. I love Middel Eastern food.
Just Kris, I work in the Med Center too. Where about do you work? I'm near Texas Women's Hospital.
