I am doing a half marathon on inline skates tomorrow May 29th in Elkhart Indiana. I never heard about skating a half marathon or marathon before but it sounds like fun ! Anyone ever do anything like this? This is the only half marathon on inline skates race in indiana i believe. Im actually excited about it :) Or if not skating a race does anyone else skate?

That sounds like fun!!! I used to do everything on skates. Kinda quit before turning 20. Haven't been skating but once recently. Never did a 1/2 marathon, but would have loved to. Used to play basketball on skates though. Kinda thought it was odd to play in high tops in high school. Couldn't figure out how to jump without a rolling start.

I love rollerblading-I can't do it anymore because my daughter outgrew the jogger. Have fun!!

I have run 2 half marathons before and even though skating one was easier it was still tough! :/ But fun :D There were only like 10 other people doing it for the fitness/rec group and all the other like 50 ppl were professional skaters with their own professional skates. :o

They have an inline skating marathon here in California in October. It is part of the Long Beach Marathon weekend. They of course have the running marahton, half marathon, 5k, as well as a marathon bike ride and a marathon inline skate thing you can do. I've only done the running marathon but doing it on skates sounds like it would be fun.

How fun! I'm just down the road. I'll definitely be doing that.

I used to do about 12 miles in 1 1/2 hours some mornings before work. I'd get up at 5:00, drive to work (which had a gym), do my blading (usually about 10 miles, but sometimes the 12 miles), shower and get into work by about 7:30 or 7:45. It was lots of fun. I worked in the bay area and my blading route took me to the San Mateo bridge where I'd have a great view of the bay and San Francisco.
It's lots of fun to do that kind of distance on blades. I hope your route is an enjoyable one.
