OK...I know there are LOTS of people on here into improving their life through fitness. I would like to have a VB Day at my gym in Allentown, Pa.
It would consist of a fun and energetic class that I will teach, a lecture/talk on what it takes to be healthy. The lecture will also be a Q&A session.
We can do it pot luck type.
I will talk to Danielle from Vegan Treats and ask her to attend and donote some goodies! :)
You can go to this link & see how far you are fom me

If I get enough replies we can figure out a date and time. I am thinking on a Saturday or Sunday around 11 or 12. IT WILL BE FUN!!!

I am in York. Meeting up sounds like an interesting idea. I dunno about me bringing something.. I am not that good at cooking and I fear I will kill everyone or make people sick. LOLz

Welcome!
How do you survive being vegan/vegetarian up there? How is your choice there?
I am from the Lehigh Valley area.

Is anyone a part of C.A.R.E. or attend any of their events? It's an acronym for (let me get the brochure)- Compassion for Animals-Respect for the Environment? I picked up their earth-friendly-printed brochure recently and was curious about their potlucks.
ALSO, FYI, anyone in the Montgomery/CHester co. area looking for a nice Chinese place, the Vee Koo Asian restaurant in Royersford has a GREAT 'Mock" General Tso's Chicken (rivaling that if u Tao), Buddhist Delight and a great veggie potstickers. The atmosphere is really upscale but not uptight. Any attire is appropriate (which is great if you don;t like to 'dress up').
ANy other news in the Philly area re: veggie or other cool stuff?

I am hailing from Greensburg. Not many vegetarians here. Atleast I know about 4 at the moment. Well, one vegan, one strict veggie and two ovalacto's. We still have fun. YAY!

Hiya! Another person from the Harrisburg area-ish.
Just went to Horizon's last Saturday and was blown away by the "cheesecake"...
Hi! :hi:
What's the address to that restaurant? Maybe it's close enough for me to check out!

Horizons is on 611 S 7th St, Philadelphia. It's not small, but it's not huge. It has a nice atmosphere.
If you go, I suggest the Peppercorn encrusted tofu. MMMMM! It was tasty. And the cheesecake... Oooooo.....

My area of pennsylvania doesn't have much in non animal foods. Meh. I need to move east.
i live 20 minutes by car to pittsburgh. good ****
if you live in or around pittsburgh, there are two amazing vegan restaraunts that ive been to and love. one is off the main drag of the southside i believe on 26th away from the city called the Zenith. you walk in and it looks like/is a antique store. its amazing. you eat on all antiques, you sit on the chairs, its just great. the best dish i think they have is tofishy with vegan tartar sauce. the second one which i actually just first been there a week or so is on penn ave. about three miles away from the city. its called the quite storm. you have to go through the strip. the menu is unbelievable here. everything is vegan or vegeterian. i had a so called open faced "roast beef" sandwich and mash potatoes with mushroom gravy smothered over them both. it was sooooooo good. its really hard to put into words. it tasted almost tasted exactly like a roast beef sandwich, but without that grimy meat taste. if you go to the quite storm, whole foods is right down the street dont miss out on that. a big pretty much all organic grocery store. also has an amazing bakery, and homeopathic medices and all that. if you goif anybody else is from pittsburgh or anywhere even close please mail me and tell me of any other vegen/vegeterian restaurants. thanks.
TOFISHY?!?! Yes!! I used to live there or a year and a half. Loved that place!! Loved the sandwich! :)

Maggie's Mercentile isn't too far from Pittsburg, and they do all-you-can-eat buffets on Sats when they can get enough people. My fiance and I just happened to see a sign on the road traveling to Fallin Water and it we were like YESSS!
Has anyone here gone to Luna Pastle in Harrisburg?
