Just thought I would add this...I used to live in PA. I grew up in Towanda, PA (if you don't know where it is, don't bother to ask) and then went to college at Penn State, University Park.

Now I live in Boston. I often miss PA.

They LIED when they said their cheese was vegan and it was not! They are rude! They don't care about YOU! All they care about is money! They close whenever they feel like it! THEY ARE RUDE! Oh..DID I SAY THAT ALREADY?

I cannot believe that vegans go bask there after what they did. They said they were unaware that there was casein in the cheese, YET THEY MADE IT THEMSLEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Govinda's is AMAZING! I had a pumpkin "cheese" cake there once. I think it was the best dessert I have ever had.

I graduated from Lafayette last year, and my girlfriend still goes there. Im planning on visiting her for my spring break (end of this month). We are both vegan, and it would be cool to go out somewhere. The vegan treat place mentioned sounds good, any other suggestions that is good for a weekend?

That sucks about the green cafe. I used to love eating there. Wendy (the main cook) was so friendly.

Yes, Wendy is very cool! I believe she is still cooking and doing vegan catering in the area.
Please be sure to stop by Vegan Treats. If you don't you will regret it! :)

As far as places to eat in the area:
- Eastern Chinese has vegan choices (they are on rt 191 right off of 22)
- Aladin restaurant on Union blvd. in Allentown
- Raj on mcarthur rd. in Whitehall
- Amazon cafe on Catasauqua Rd. in Allentown has a few vegan choices (wraps, sandwiches and chili!)
- Catty China in catasauqua (my hometown) has awesome Gen. Tso's Tofu and Sesame Tofu and a all veggie with tofu. VERY GOOD!
- Mangos on Hamilton Blvd in Allentown is fabulous! They have tofu tacos and a sprout salad with tofu. When I get the tofu taco I ask for extra tofu on the side or an extra or two taco. They are very nice!

If I think of any other places I will let you know. We really need an all vegetarian/vegan place here. It would do very well!

I thought they were completely rude and pompous (there is a list of rules posted that you have to follow when you order, ala the Soup Nazi) and the vegan cheesesteak I got wasn't good at all. It was $8 and I only ate a few bites ... I definitely won't be returning there again.

I love Empress Gardens on 4th(?) and South ... it's always my first stop when I'm on South Street.

Veggiebelly, If you like Golden Empress, have you ever been to Guo's Garden on 113 in Exton? Their menu is exactly the same and they are very nice and veg-concious there. We actually just got some take out from the there tonight :lick:

I've been really disappointed with SuTao lately. The last few times we've been there, the food's been horrible, and cold. This was during hte dinner buffet too :( We won't be going back for a while- too many tummy troubles afterward and my husband hates the waiter that gawks at girl's boobs.

I have not been to Guo's Garden, but thanks for telling me about it! Is it in a certain shopping center so I can find it more easily?
I will be moving somewhere around the Malvern area in the next couple of months and need all the info I can get! I'm still learning about the area.
I just ate at Empress again last night and the Sesame "Chicken" was AWESOME.
I was also disappointed at SuTao the last time I was there. I thought the waiter (maybe the same one you were talking about?) was really rude. The food didn't quite do it for me, either.
