I dont suppose anyone lives in the lehigh valley, or the poconos ( I can understand why you wouldnt! HA) I grew up in Levittown right outside philly, so I know a lot of places there, but now I live up near the poconos and there isnt ANYONE here! Well, I guess it was worth a shot to ask, anyways...
[B]HI PAVEG,
MY NAME IS JENNY AND I JUST JOINED. I'M AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST & ALMOST VEGAN. I LIVE IN BARTONSVILLE & i would like to meet more vegans & vegetarians. MAYBE WE CAN GET SOME PEOPLE TOGETHER & HAVE COFFEE OR SOMETHING. i THINK THAT WOULD BE FUN! i HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING TO
MT. POCONO, I'M ONLY 15 OR 20 MIN AWAY. :sunny:
pumk mommy: you're in west chester????
Anyway, i'm in Limerick, but work in malvern. I'm near WC all the time. I'd love to move into philly, but i gotta get things going out here first. :)
Woe! I live in Graterford/COllegeville right now. I work in Chester Springs(right down the street from Exton and WC). I saw a little house in West Chester that I thought about buying, but decided to keep looking. My bro lives there, and graduated from WCU so he knows that town like the the back of his hand.
I spend most of my time in Pottstown though, when I'm not at home or work. Damn, small world!
WCU has the best dorms ever . My friend went there for music education, and she lived in a palace for the same amount of money we were spending for an 8X8 roach-infested high rise box. No wonder their students are so cool.

Yeah, when my brother attended WCU his dorm was okay, but when he was able to get the on campus apartments....man were those suckers really nice. Beautiful on the outside, so nice on the inside, and had some nice views. I was totally impressed.
I would have loved to live in one of them.

Hey someone else from the valley ,there are a few of us around! We are on the border of the poconos, near Jim Thorpe, which is starting to get some good veggie places.
I was vacationing up in the poconos this past fall. Jim Thorpe wasn't far.
Nice area, I can't wait until October to go up again:)

I am going to my huge Italian family reunion June 25-30 in Hazleton. Should be interesting, hopefully I be able to eat there.
:help:
Sorry if you already got this message, but the animals need your help!
I just got a phone message from PETA telling us about calling in to vote
for Bruce Friedrich on American Candidate.
http://www.americancandidate.com/candidate_homepage.php?id=2
Bruce is absolutely the best so you should vote for him... it would help the animals so much!
> We need to mobilize as many Pennsylvania residents as possible to place
calls to this toll-free number: 877-786-9120. Bruce needs to get as many
"votes" as possible BEFORE 4 PM ON THURSDAY JUNE 17. Only one call is
allowed per Pennsylvania phone, but a person can "vote" from multiple
phones.
It is really easy ... just dial the number and then hang up. You don't have to say anything; your call is a "vote" for Bruce.
make sure to spread the word to anyone you might know in pa
thank you so much!!!

I'm so close to the middle of no where, but ironically everyone knows it. If anyone has any good tips on surviving vegan life in Gettysburg, PA, I would like to here them. I have an internship there. I did find Sonnywalds once, but I haven't found it again :(. So yeah, maybe a weekend in Harrisburg or York? I could meet up with some people that don't have deer hanging in their offices?

wow i havent been able to check out this site for months, and now that I did I am shocked at how many people are in this area!!! I am actually looking to move and we were checking out Slatington and Lehighton areas b/c its cheaper but with my husband working in Easton it might be a little too far... I was just wondering if anyone goes to the Lehigh Valley vegetarian group in Bethlehem each month?? I have been wanting to go for a while now but cant get a sitter for my kids. I really want to get down there, though, so I can actually be around other vegans (my husband isnt, and I only know a couple of vegetarians). Anyone go???

I didn't know there was a vegetarian group in the Lehigh Valley. I'd be interested in going. It would be nice to meet other vegetarians! :)

I lived in Camp Hill when I was younger. I also lived in Mechanicsburg and Enola as well. I moved a lot with my mom. I live in Altoona now, though. Its not so great around here for veggies. We have a nice health food store, but no real good restaurants. We go to Mad Mex in State College for some good stuff, but other than that there is nothing special.

Woo hoo. Philly. I am at Arcadia University at the moment, just a stone's throw from Philly. In my wanderings around the city, I found a Veg place on south street, didn't try it though...and I can't remember the name (I am so useless...) so I was wondering if anyone knew how it is.
Philly is one of the best cities ever, I hopefully will be able to intern this summer at the Art Museum, so I can spend more time in the city ^^ My favorite haunts around the city are Chinatown and Center City.

You're very close to Horizon's Cafe in Willow Grove...have you gone there yet? Their food is delicious.
