Yes! I still see those commercials. :pibo: I can't believe no one's posted any of them on Youtube.

Randy, they advertise their 4 generations, and the youngest is prematurely (I hope) balding. They sound the same, but Baby are they ever aging.

geeezzz I only had a television for six months and that damn BC Clark ad got in my head...
oh, and the credit jewelry one about your credit looking like you rode with Frank and Jesse James.
lame, lame lame.

does anyone remember a newscaster from early 2000s named Rich Jelniker?
The name seems SO familiar and he is in the Denver market now, but I keep thinking he came through the OKC market.

Haha, I think those Credit Jewelry ads are finally a thing of the past. I don't really watch much tv, so I might be wrong.

Rich Jelniker sounds familiar...

I am moving back to Oklahoma next week after years in Korea. I'll be in Tulsa. Anyone in Tulsa? The only people I know in Tulsa are my parents and my parents' friends. Heck, add in the rest of the country and the only other people I know are family members I haven't seen in years.

Will be arriving September 19th with two dogs and severe jet lag. Can't wait to be back! :D

Wow, life in the OK thread.

I'm not in Tulsa, but I hope your move back is a good one.
You'll have just missed the hot weather, probably. It's been cooling down a lot here the last week or so.

Actually, I was there August 6-22. I didn't think it was that bad at all. Had heard such horror stories from my mom that when I stepped off the plane into the cool air, I assumed a cold front had moved in. I guess it's because a dry heat is never that bad. :D

I was gone for part of that period, but overall it's been pretty humid overall this summer, at least for OK.

You must have gotten here at just the right time. :)

How's everyone holding up in OK? We haven't had Power (in Tulsa/Broken Arrow) since Sunday. I'm at a Panera Bread at the moment getting away from the boredom and darkness at home. Thankfully my family has a generator. We have heat and hot water but not much else. They're saying it could be a couple weeks before everyone has power back.
The city is a mess of broken trees, power lines, etc. I've never seen anything like it. Thankfully, the roads are ice-free. They're just dark and full of tree limbs. I've taken lots of photos... once I have power again I'll upload 'em and provide a link. The destruction is absolutely amazing.

Still no power here either. Coming up on 72 hours for me too.

I have gas heat/water heater/ stove so I have heat and can shower and cook.
It's just dark and exceedingly boring. A lot of Norman is already cleaned up (more than it was) and more and more people are getting power back.
Not me, mind you.....

We're supposed to get a load of snow this weekend, so the fun may not be over yet.

After a little over 100 hours, my power's back.

How 'bout everyone else? You guys up and running again?

Still no power (since 11:00PM Sunday... so in a few hours it'll be 5 full days). I'm at Java Daves at the moment enjoying being out of the house. Artificial light has never looked so good!
Everything is as bad as it looks in the news photos... and worse.
I hope this next winter storm wont be as bad as they're predicting. We don't need any more mess!

I used to hang out at Java Dave's all the time.... sigh....

Woohoo! We got power back a couple hours ago. One full week without... I hope I never have to do that again.

He's in Hawaii, so I seriously doubt he ever misses OK much. :p

Good deal.
I hope I never have to deal with that again either!
I'm happy we didn't get the snow we were supposed to get.
That would have been horrible!

I sure do miss the rents there!! I'm looking for an inexpensive apartment now, and I'm getting really jealous of the apartment prices in OK. I was looking on Craigslist, and for what I would pay for a studio here, I could get a 2-bedroom HOUSE in Tulsa....

I probably shouldn't tell you right now then that I pay $285 for about 800 sq. ft. :sealed: :)
A block from campus too.

I'd never thought about rent prices and what property values up there must be like, Randy.

Completely agree. But, at least we have blue blue skies and sunshine. It LOOKS like a beautiful day...when viewed from within someplace with heat. ^_^
