Anyone in the greater Cleveland/Akron area interested in having any meetups? Of course I'd love to introduce more people to the fabulous vegetarian store with the vegan deli where I work, but I'd also love to go other places together- like The Mustard Seed Cafe, Cafe Limbo, or any good ethnic place with veggie options. Maybe we could even have our own vegan potlucks! Feel free to PM me if you're interested!
I'd be happy to go to a VB mini gathering if you want. I also want to let people know I've gone to a couple of the Cleveland Vegetarian Meetup meals recently and there are some pretty interesting people.

The next meal is at a Lebanese place on Chagrin near Trader Joe's on 10/14/06.

There are other local veggie events listed in a weekly newsletter published at http://www.vegsource.com/vegadvocates/events.html or write to vegetarianadvocates -yahoo to get it delivered to your inbox.

I just had a great vegan weekend in Columbus.

Finally went to DragonFly - I had the 'Chicken of the Woods Fricase' which was this amazing battered mushroom that was reminisent of chicken/fish served with rice. Since I rarely go out to dinner especially to somewhere trendy and high end it was quite a treat (and quite expensive).

Pattycake Bakery is more my speed. If you are the Columbus area you MUST go there on Saturday morning for her warm sticky buns. They were out of this world - warm and soft and cinnamony. Also tried a blueberry muffin and peanut butter chocolate chip cookie - also great. :lick:

Went to the new Whole Foods and they had a great selection of vegan items on their salad bar, I was shocked to see so much there. Go Columbus! :)

I found this site and I use it every day.
It lists all the restaurants in Ohio and places to shop.

Aweseome! Thanks. We're always looking for a new place to try.

I actually got a little booklet from them at the Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival but I'm sure they'll update the one online often so I'll keep checking back for new places. :D

Where in Ohio are you? If you're near Cleveland I highly recommend Tommy's in Cleveland Heights.

Our vegan friends want to take us to Tommys. We're in Akron.

Tommy's was the first vegetarian restaurant I ever went to - back in 1993! That place has been there forever.

Aimra - do you go to the Mustard Seed? I love that place (I grew up near Medina and spent most of my time in Akron/Cleveland)

Yeah, but we've only been there once. It is a bit of a drive and we have a place called 7 Grains just down the street. They are kinda like a mini Mustard Seed minus the cafe.

Although we're going to go up to the Wild Oats store by Cleveland soon. It is quite the little wonderland.

I'm going to be in the area of Cincinnati for long while and was wondering if anyone has info for events in that area.

I am dying to meet other vegetarians/vegans (both events welcome!). Even raw foods events are fun to attend. :)

Anyone who knows of a webpage that lists upcoming events for that area??

ANY advice appreciated!!

mybaby, my aunt and uncle once lived in Buckeye Lake. It's been probably 15 years since I've been there, though.

Ohio City? It seems like I hear about a new town everyday! I'd go, but I'm away at school at the other end of the state.
