I've been vegetarian for about 2 months (going to go vegan in 9 days.) I've noticed recently when i eat dairy stuff, i feel really sick. But the strange thing is before i've been educating myself in the horrors of dairy, i was fine with dairy. Is it possible that i am making myself sick because i know how bad it is? or is it possible that i developed a dairy problem basically overnight. :help:
I think it's probably psychological since it happened so suddenly and at the same time that you found out about the dairy industry. This happens to me if I find out that I ate something with even just a little bit of meat in it. I stress and think about it so much that I physically make myself feel ill.

I think it's entirely possible, perhaps even likely, that your brain is simply fooling your body. I can't help wondering how many of those people who claim to be sensitive to tiny amounts of any animal product are really doing the same thing. However, some of them swear they get sick even if they don't know about it.
It is possible you are honestly getting sick.
I went out to eat not to long ago and order what I thought wasa normal vegetarian meal.
Was ravioli stuffed with mushrooms in a garlic sauce.
Vegetarian right? I thought so.
I take my time eating so about 40 min later I was still eating and talking to my husband and I started getting sick.
As in vomiting sick, when I vomited there was obvious oil in the water.
It turned out the garlic sauce had some chicken broth in it as a base.
Food your body is not used to eating can make you sick, dairy and meat products specialy.

I don't think it's so psychological... when you stop eating something for awhile (try a year or so...!) :) your body gets used to not having it. So when you do eat those things after so long, your body might have a hard time digesting it.
My sister is the perfect example of this - she was adopted from China; she grew up there for nearly a decade, and her diet there consisted of no red meat and almost no dairy. To this day (six years later) she gets very sick when she eats those things, not because she's allergic or anything, but because her body isn't used to it.

Hey, i'v experienced the same thing. I used to be bulimic and if i ate id worry myself so much that id get tired, sressed, lethargic and eventually sick. However, eventually i became very sensitive to certain foods because i had such a restricted diet(not to say that being vege is restricting, quite the oposite). For instance, when id have my starvation days or id only eat fruit and veg for weeks... if i did eventually eat somthing that was fatty or sugary id get sick because my body wasnt used to the calories or amount of fat.
You are either stressing yourself sick, or your body could be getting used to eating healthy food and is not used to the usual crap. I still form time to time get ill from eating certain foods.
(I'm not comparing what u have to my eating disorder.. its just an example!!)
I've noticed the same thing recently! I break out in a rash that get better when I'm dairy-free, and worse when I can't pass up the ice cream. Stomachaches, too. You're not alone, and even if it is psychological, it doesn't mean it's not a problem. It is possible to develop allergies.
