No thats the same place, same owner by the way. I dont know why they did the change, all they needed was some advertising to pick up more business. They were doing great with considering it was all word of mouth to begin with.
We looked at the menu they had posted and it only had a few vegetarian items so we didnt go in.
The one in Philadelphia is still there, im just not going out of my way for it.
Singapore was my absolute favorite (alright, aside from Gianna's in Philly). We wanted to order take out from there for Valentine's. When my b/f picked me up from work that day he looked like he was about to cry, then he gave me the bad news. But he said another place opened up 2 doors away from it. It's called Golden Duck and has a similar menu to Singapore, but much smaller and has non-veg options as well. Food tasted pretty much the same, but I miss being able to pick ANYTHING from the menu and not have to get it specially modified and then be paranoid that they got the order right   :-/ I wonder if the Singapore in Philly is still there?

On a more positive note, they re-opened Veggie Works with the name Kaya's Kitchen. It was delish! I am sad they did away with a lot of stuff on their menu though, including the salad bar. But, it was awesome regardless! :)
Countess, Has Veggie Works opened in Red Bank? I was trying to get them to advertise.

The building that The Golden Teapot Restaurant was in was condemned and they are closed. Has anyone heard of them re-opening in a new location?
Not only was the food wonderful, but the owner was an incredibly nice guy.
Yeah sucks it burned down, or the next door down burned down... he is a nice guy, dont know if theyll ever reopen, wasnt cheap food but always great.

There's also a place, Zafra's, in New Brunswick, which is cool since there's other things close by in terms of entertainment, State Theater, Old Bay (great little bar).
If anyone is in New Brunswick, there's this Indian place called Thinisu with vegetarian and vegan stuff marked on their menu. The prices are pretty decent, the food is good, and the people there are really nice.

For those of you from the north jersey area there is a new veggie restaurant opening in Upper Montclair. Its on valley road across the street from the Gap. It says its Veggie Heaven. I don't know if it is connected to either the veggie heavan in Parsippany or Teaneck, but I'm excited. I heard it will be open before the summer.

They're open now. Me and my friend drove by there tonight just to make sure we knew where it was, and noticed it was opened. They opened last week. It's very nice inside, and even has an upstairs dining area.

Yes! There is an AWESOME vegan restaurant in Red Bank...I believe that is near Linden. :) It's called "Down to Earth" and is on where Broad Street and Front Street meet. Go to MapQuest to find out the directions from your destination. :)

Anyone near route 57? It really sucks, an absolute death trap for our little friends, I drove by a scene that really hit me, a groundhog dead in the road and another a few feet away on the side of the road just looking, probably a mate or sibling or whatever, really made me sad, poor little ones. That road is a bloodbath, I really hate it!!!! And a friend just told me that she was going to rescue another one off of the road that had just got hit, but only a little, might have been ok, but someone ran him over as she was appraoching him with a blanket to get him off the road, pretty nice huh? She said they had plenty of room to go around too, what assholes, complete lack of compassion and concern :(

Hey all..
Im not sure of a date yet, does anyone have a better weekend than another? Im thinking the 3rd weekend in JULY, 23rd which is a saturday. It will be held in atco, NJ which is more south jersey at my moms place because she actually has a grill to use and has a pretty big pool. It could be a pool party for anyone wanting to go swimming as well. A couple buddies of mine i know will show up that live close to that area. They both will most likely bring some fancy "meatless" burgers and stuff like that. I can get vegan potato salad etc. stuff like that made too. If anyone would like to bring something, please email me or post here first just so 3 people dont have salad or potato salad and we dont have a diverse arrangement of food then :juggle:
I am inviting a few of my friends, a couple are on here too, if you have any "meateater" friends lol, you may bring a husband/wife or b/f g/f if you like, since there wont be any meat type products so if they would like to try anything, thats fine. My mom eats meat but she has always eaten a lot of foods i eat and i guess her being 50 just takes her a while or years to just stop eating her crap lol.
For directions, please ask, ill post basic directions from different areas. I hope this is enough notice, about a month, for people to try and plan for that day. Most likely it will be hours of noon time until whenever or about 6pm. I know some people live farther say in North Jersey or PA, DE, you may still come, its not too bad, just take the major highways. You can get to the house from RT73 in New jersey, 206, 295, ac expressway... all are somewhat around it. Any questions or ideas, feel free to ask, a buddy on this board and his friend have had veggie BBQs before, with only a few people and were pretty neat and basic.... Well have a lot of fun. Im 23, but if your 15 or 50 you can still come

It looks like I'm, not surprisingly, tied up for the weekend helping my friend in her continuing effort to prep her home for sale (hopefully there will be no more paint drips!), but wow how really very nice of you to extend this invitation!!!! You get a free big smoothie when I open ;)
