Hi Elena;

I went to school and lived in College Park for a zillion years.

Be sure to try out the Maryland Food Co-op in the Student Union.

Also be sure to try the China Cafe out. It is down by Vertigo books, next tot he 7/11.

I still eat there :)

Hiya fellow Marylanders!

I so love Mandalay. I hadn't been there in ages and decided to go a few weeks ago only to be crushed that they moved. I'll have to head to the new location sometime soon.

I'm in MD now, College Park specifically :-) Hi MD people.

Hey! I work at UM. Don't know too much about the area--I live in Baltimore, so most of my time in CP is in my office--but I'd be glad to share what I do know.

Maybe we should have a little CP meetup for lunch or something. Maybe make the trip to Mandalay

We don't have a car yet (or jobs, eek. I'm still going through adjustment, and my husband's still looking) but when we're settled in, that would be nice. :-) I haven't been to Mandalay, but a friend took us to Noodlez, which is veg*an friendly.

I lived in College Park for a zillion years. I know live in Takoma Park. I have been to Mandaly's a few times.

If you want to do lunch in College Park some weekend I wouldn't mind meeting all of you at The China Cafe, by College Park Bicycles. It doesn't look like much but they have about 10 vegetarian dishes. I have been eating there for a zillion years. It is also cheap. You can get a good meal for about $5.

You need to go to Liquid Earth in Fells Point. Everything is vegetarian, and everything can easily be made vegan...the owners are great and never mess anything up. Try the vegan ruben, and meatless muffelatta...those are my favorites, but the worst thing they have there is really good too.
You'll be happy to eat there every day. There is also an egyptian pizza place there(fells point) that is good but you have to tell them your vegan. You can trust them they are a vegan hot spot and used to getting vegans in.

where can you get good vegan food in baltimore?
i dont mean a place where i can get a salad or some weird expensive miso soup crap

i got that VRG list of places to eat there but it turned out to be crap... i went to holy frijoles and as i was eating the chips i found out they werent vegan and the only things i could have were rice and guac

then i tried some chinese place... mr something or other... they didnt speak english and couldnt really tell me what was vegan or not. i ended up getting something they said had no eggs or dairy from the vegetarian page and got really sick

baltimore has got to have some good places...
i hate having to drive to annapolis, DC, and rockville just to eat really yummy vegan food

I'm no longer as close to DC as I used to be, or else I'd consider going to some of these events you keep posting, Steve.

On another note, we've had to move (temporarily) to Westminster, MD. Does anyone know of a good health food store, maybe something like My Organic Market, that's in this area? I love that place, but it's now an hour away.
