When did this happen? I didn't see anything about dates. :(
:-( Ooohh I am really sorry, didn't realize other people were interested as well. When I had posted it a while ago I got a few responses, so I did not post anything again to avoid becoming annoying. We all had such a wonderfull time though, so maybe we could do it again sometime in the future and I can make sure I send more messages.
My apologies again,
M

It really wasn't my intention to throw the event in anyone's face.
I just know that some people are shy or scared to interact with VBers in real life. I just wanted to help those people see that it can be safe, fun and enriching.
Hopefully more will join us in future activities. :)

Yeah Animallover I've gotten together with VBers on 4 occassions now. Check back in every once in a while and you'll see one of us posting about getting together for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner. It doesn't have to center on food.. there's just so many good vegan restaurants in Maryland.
You could host an event. Find a restaurant or activity that you'd like to partake in and tell us about it. Anyone that can make it, will.
What part of Maryland are you in? There seems to be more "active" participants in the Rockville, Gaithersburg area. We venture to DC sometimes too.

Hey fellow Marylanders. I thought this was relevant to post here since it pertains to Maryland. I dont think I can post it in the AR section since it's only in Maryland. What do you think?
As you know, keeping dogs chained—or as it’s sometimes called, “tethering”—is cruel, because it deprives these highly social pack animals of proper socialization and often leaves them unable to reach whatever shelter, food, and water they’ve been provided. The dogs grow aggressively protective of their tiny space and often attack children who come near them. A piece of legislation that would help make the state a safer place for dogs and the public—Senate Bill 921—was passed by the Maryland Senate on March 31. Please urge your state delegate to do the right thing and support this legislation today.
If it becomes law, SB921 would prohibit the tethering of an unattended dog to any fixed object or running cable trolley system between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. as well as during weather emergencies. The bill would also prohibit any use of tethers that are less than five times the dog’s length or more than one-eighth of the dog’s body weight. Offenders would face up to 90 days behind bars for these violations or for using tethers that restrict dogs from accessing food, water, and shelter or allow them to become entangled.
Today, please politely urge your state delegate to support SB921.
You can e-mail your delegate here.
Please forward this message to others in your state who might be willing to lend their voices to this important issue. Maryland’s forgotten and neglected dogs are counting on you.
Oh, the links didn't work. Here they are.
Find your delegate here- http://mdelect.net/electedofficials/

Baltimore is about 2 hours away from me... it's do able and I do want to set aside a time to go there this summer. I've read a bunch of cool things about the area. I've always just driven by or through it... never stopped.
Maybe we can work something out with enough advanced notice.
Baltimore is a fun place to explore, especially in the warm weather when you can hang out by the water.
For those around Baltimore, you may or may not know that Yabba Pot has closed its St Paul Street location but is fully rolling at the location very close to Camden Yards (they've been open for a while there). The service last Saturday night was awful, but the food is still very good.

Well, I live fairly close to College Park. I don't have specific recommendations, but I can advise you to be careful. Most of College Park is fairly safe, and there are some great areas around it, but there are also some fairly unsafe areas not too far away as well. Feel free to ask specific questions when you begin your search.
The big thing is to be prepared for "sticker shock." The cost of living around here is likely quite a bit higher than you used to.

Hi :)
Have you planned if you are coming down this way this summer yet?

Well, I haven't really planned anything yet. I'm trying to get ahold of one of my friends who lives close to that area and see if he can meet us and hang out.
I don't want to just sit at a restaurant. I'd like to go on the night time ghost tours, maybe picnic in the park, or go during some type of festival.
Do you have any ideas?

Has anyone been to the Han Ah Reum Asian Supermarket in Catonsville?
It is the best Asian Food market I've been to yet. Its nearly as big as Walmart and its in a pretty good spot.
If anyone is interested in going here is the address:
Han Ah Reum-Baltimore
800 N. Rolling Road
Catonsville, MD 21228
(443) 612-9020
There is also one in Annandale, VA.
I live in "Southern Md". Fun.
There are no "vegetarian" or "Vegan" restaurants here. I just started my transition to vegetarian (I may go totally vegan). The closest thing I have is Giant for good foods.

Just ideas for stuff to do, the MD Faerie Festival is coming up the weekend of May 21st, it is really amazing- like a renn fest but more on sale and only one sow at a time.http://www.marylandfaeriefestival.org/
Anyways, anyone know about earth day celebrations? I dunno when earth day is, but its soon and I feel like cleaning a stream. I've seen one town with one for next weekend, but anyone know more things groups are doing?

I'm 16, so maybe we should meet up sometime this summer!
I wanted to go to Maryland meetings, but I thought I'd be the only teen there.

No, Snownose.... Trueveggie is 31. It might be best if you and Animallover make plans together. Just PM each other. Maybe you even go to the same school. Who knows. All you have to do is left click on the person's name. You'll see the options to either see their profile, PM them, email them or see their website if applicable. Hope you guys plan something fun and have a good time.
ETA: it's nothing personal... just that your parents might not understand why someone in their 30's would want to hand out with a teenager. I'd be ill-perceived.

Haha I know. My parents would be suspicious. They'd probably think I joined a cult or something!
There is a meetup this Saturday evening, if anyone's interested:
