30+ rats have been rescued (legally) from a local University where they had been used in a class psychology experiment. They were set to be killed, but thanks to a student there who stepped in and asked to take them they have been saved. Now that the experiment is over and their lives saved, there's only one thing they need: a good home.

Hugs for Puppies is taking in all of the rats, but we don't have the ability to provide continued care for them. Please, consider adopting one or a few of these friendly animals. For those who speak think vivisection is cruel and useless, put your money where your mouth is and help out these rats - out of the tens of millions of animals killed each year, these are some of the few survivors. Rats are great pets, they are very affectionate and low-maintenance.

We are of course in Philadelphia but if you live in the DC-Boston corridor or will be here (say, for the SHAC-7 sentencing June 13?) please get in touch and we'll try to work out a way to pass them along. Also, PLEASE forward this email to any other ar-friendly listserves you are on if you yourself can't take in any rats. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I'm too far away to help these lil guys, but I did repost it in my rat community.

Are these rats pink eyed whites?

How tempting, if only my pet quota hasn't been filled already and I'm planning to be gone a lot this summer.

Hope the ratties find homes.

Good job on whoever rescued them. I'd love one but I'm too far away and I have a cat. My cat is 5 and I've never had him around a rat, can it work?? Just curious.
