The main state page shows states 1-30 of 51! I just noticed it today (I wasn't expecting there to be a saparate page).

What part in Illinois are you in?

This is from an e-mail I received...

There is a house bill in IL that needs to be signed by the governor. It states:

Illinois: Ask the Governor to Sign HB 1089 To Require Forfeiture of Real Property Used in Animal Fighting Dog and cockfighting are illegal blood sports. These barbaric activities have no place in civilized society. The animals used in these fights are often severely injured or killed. Illegal weapons and drugs are often present at these matches.

Property forfeiture is a necessary deterrent to stop these clandestine activities. Unfortunately animal fighting is on the rise in our state. Promoters of these bouts should not be allowed to keep their ill-gotten gains.

ASPCA has a letter created and all you need to do is go and enter your name/address and if you want you may add some of your own words to the letter. It only takes about 5 minutes to do and if we can get it passed, it will be 5 minutes well spent!

https://secure2.convio.net/aspca/site/Advocacy?id=255&JServSessionIdr005=gappmoreqc.app5b

Please pass this on to all of your animal loving friends.

I live in Oak Park, a Chicago suburb. Thanks, Michael, for the ASPCA link. I've already signed it and passed it on to others.

I'm from 2 hours south, haven't been to Chicago Diner yet, though I've heard a lot about it. Have been to Soul Vegetarian for breakfast. Scrambled tofu. :lick:

I'm from Illinois. I live on the South Side, and I love Soul Vegetarian. I had a Veggie Gyro from their the other day, it was ok I guess, I took the meat out.

Is the parking pretty bad around the Chicago Diner? I've never eaten there before.

I'm sure they've all changed since I've been there. :( Excalibur always seemed like one of the more popular clubs.

mmmm :lick: Chicago Diner  mmmm

I lived in Chicago in Andersonville for 2 years, I worked in the west loop. I grew up in Munster Indiana, which is 30 miles from the Chicago loop. Northwest Indiana the red headed step child of Illinois and the hated bastard of Indiana. :D

I miss the city and all it's convenience!

I live in the edgewater area, and if anyone is up here, check out Alice and Friends on Broadway, down the street from Moody's pub. It's an incredible vegegarian cafe, most items are vegan and it tells which ones have whey powder and honey. Other favorite places include Amitabul, and definetly Soul Vegetarian tops the Chicago Diner.
