Oh, and if anyone is looking for a vegan Thanksgiving meal for one, ION's got it! It's pretty pricey (around $23, I believe) but it sounds DELICIOUS. It comes with desert too. I'll post the ordering number when I find the flyer... :dizzy:

Old Saybrook. But in the summer I hate it because it's infested with summer people.

YAY I was hoping to find a little connecticut area of the message boards. :) Live in Middletown. (Also have lived in Norwich and Plainfield) Moved here from California two and a half-ish years ago. Ive shopped at It's Only Natural quite a few times, even long before i went veg. Havent gotten an oppourtunity to go to the restaurant yet. Maybe we can set up a little outting sometime to try it out. (plus im dying to meet people who will eat there, cause most of my friends sure wont :D)
Hope to see more posts about local stuff. I know I'll share when I find things.

^^^, an outting sounds like a lotta fun! :) (by the way, welcome to VB, n00b!)
I'm taking a business trip to Stamford in October. Anyone got any restaurant/store recommendations?
Hi Connecticutters, I'm pretty new to the board .... There's a few things I'd like to tell you all about...
1. Vegan Meetups ... I've been trying to attend one but they are always cancelled due to a lack of rsvp's. If anyone is interested in a Vegan meetup please go to this site http://vegan.meetup.com/rsvp/?e=2720705&v=-1 (http://) and register for them so we can get one going? :hi:
2. There's a PETA rally against KFC Monday, August 16th. All you have to do is show up. :sign:
3:00-4:00 PM
KFC: 501 Farmington Ave
Hartford, CT
PETA will provide all the leaflets, posters, and stickers needed for the demo, so all you’ll need to bring is yourself! I hope you can make time to attend this important demonstration and send a strong message to KFC that their cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. If you have any questions contact JoeHinkle@peta.org
3. Here's a post I tossed up a few weeks ago concerning sharing a bulk foods order. Please check it out-- http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=21122 perhaps we can save some cash and eat heartily together?
Thanks! And I'd love to meet some CT Vegans soon!

Cool, thanks for the info!
Hi, I'm from CT too. I'm in Newington. I'm interested in the rally at KFC. How many people do you have organized to go? Anyone here going? Any information you can give is appreciated!
Hello LesDom, I'm not the organizer of the rally -- just a fellow PETA activist. In fact this will be my first on-site protest. I'm not sure how many usually turn up for these things but I'm sure every warm body is needed. Joe Hinkle is the laison for Connecticut and he's very helpful. You can email him here: joehinkle@peta.org After the rally-- in the evening-- we will be having a meeting. Joe will be letting us know where it will be.

 I'm surrounded by meateaters here, they won't understand. :( Speaking of rallys, there's one in Hartford tomorrow. Are you going?
where, when and what is it for?
After the rally there will be an activist meeting at Tisane Tea and Coffee Bar at 537 Farmington Ave in Hartford. For anyone interested, would you like to have it there directly after the rally at 4:15pm or rather have it later at 6pm? Please let me know what would be better for those of you interested in attending, so I can let Joe know.
Thanks!!

CT Peace Activists ~
Thursday, August 12th:
Marchers will be doing gardening in two different locations in the
morning, and will then head up to the newly-reclaimed green space at Broad
St and Farmington Ave to talk to people and chill out on their rest day.
In the evening, at Artspace (555 Asylum St) there will be workshops on
street theater at the RNC with the Hartbeat Ensemble at their apartment,
presentations on permaculture, direct action training if enough people
feel inclined, and a workshop on anti-authoritarian organizing with the
CLASH Collective. There will also be music and perhaps film showings.

Hmm, I work until 6pm and it would take me about 20 min to get into Hartford. It might not be worth it.:worried:
That sounds really interesting. Got a website about this that I can check out?

Good question. I found out about this group through another peace rally.
