That's awesome. I sure as hell wouldn't be going anywhere without my kitty.

This should probably be a thread all it's own http://www.partylaunch.com/partyanimals/findparty/index.cfm
The Humane Society is organizing No Pet Left Behind - Parties with a Purpose on June 11th to raise money for the cause.
That is wonderful it was heartbreaking to see the animals fromKatrina come in and no less heartbreaking to see people stranded in the city because they refused to leave without thier pets.
I know if something happened here where Ilive I would not have left my animals.

Same here - I would be too disappointed in myself for abandoning them with no where to go. I have so many pets though, lol, it would be very difficult. Lucky for me I live where floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. are rare.

Check it out. The bill passed through Congress and now must pass through the Senate.
The House passed the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act, H.R. 3858, in a landslide 349-24 vote. The PETS Act requires state and local emergency management agencies to take into account the needs of individuals with pets and service animals in the event of a major disaster. The HSUS and the HSLF are working hard to pass this legislation before the next hurricane season begins.
The Senate must now pass the final bill. Write your Senators to make sure your voice is heard about how you feel about your fur babies needing help in disaster situations.

The animals thank you for the few minutes of your time it takes to tell your Senators how you feel.
