Well, maybe I'm just wierd, but I don't think the weather's been great. I think it's been scary - a symptom of global warming. Also, warm dry weather increases wildfire danger.

Agreed - it is scary - it is a symptom of global warming ...
Hey - how 'bout the weather today - all the rain has been great! My garden is probably eating it up!

Congrats on getting a Sunflower. It was my favorite place to shop while I was living in Denver - good selection and good prices.

Thanks! Yeah - I'm looking forward to the lower prices thing! Amazing how much Whole Foods and Wild Oats will charge for 'conventional' produce - more than your mainstream grocery store ... so I'm excited.

Yeah, I was glad it rained. Lots of rain too. :)
Where are they opening a Sunflower? I heard Whole Foods bought out Wild Oats.

looks like we have more rain coming too!
The new Sunflower is at the old Elitch's site ... essentially the Berkeley/Highlands neighborhood in NW Denver ... 38th and Tennyson.
From what I know, Whole Foods is much more of a bigger corporation than Wild Oats ... so that doesn't bode well for having more choices ... My favorite is Vitamin Cottage as they have higher ethics and only carry organic produce but I've had to special order items before ... they've been really good about this ... and I like having a new Vitamin Cottage right off Platte downtown.

I have a Vitamin Cottage nearby. I've never been there, I'll have to check it out.

hi there. My name is Jeff and I live in Denver. I am having the hardest time meeting a vegetarian woman. Are there any out there?

I still think they need to work on their service, but the food is good. Not all the waitstaff is vegan friendly. Even though I have been in there countless times and have had the same server, if I order something with cheese and forget to say vegan, they never remember me. A good server would ask every person if it should be vegan.
Do you guys know who Spencer is?

still looking, Jeff? try looking up the Denver Co-op, not brick and mortar yet, but the meetings could be a place to find like minded folks!
I'll get around to arranging a south Metro veggie gathering. look to HipF (this is drumminmama) for info.
I didn't go through all of the thread (so refer me to posts if needed): anyone have opinions on VG Burgers in Boulder?

VG Burgers is awesome. Mostly organic 100% vegan and they strive for 0 waste. Plus the food is awesome. Where else can you get a burger with everything, chili cheese fries, and a shake that is all vegan?
If you want to post events on www.ColoradoVeggies.org, feel free too. I have been too busy to keep it going through the winter, but I am going to try and get it going again. For a while we had many events planned. You post anything and it doesn't have to be veggie related. If you want to plan an event to the movies, or bowling ally, feel free.
Wholly Tomato closed! :(
I really liked this yummy sandwich place ... great veggie options and organic stuff too ... good vegan bakery items ... I'm sad ....
I just found out ... then walked by there the other day and saw a sign stating there was some kind of deli coming ....
too bad .... if only people that always insisted on going to Watercourse went to Wholly Tomato some maybe they would've made it! Watercourse is always SO crowded ... too bad Wholly Tomato didn't get more support ....
okay ... I guess I'm making assumptions ... I'm going to email them as their website is still up ... maybe they moved????
Well looks like Wholly Tomato is closed ... here's the response to my email ...

I went to VG Burgers a few weeks ago and I thought it was ok but not as tasty as I hoped. They're definitely going in the right direction. But if they could improve the menu they'll stay in business for a long time. I loved the shakes though!

I was at VG Burgers a couple weeks ago also. It was really tasty, but I wish there were more calories/bigger servings for putting on weight.
Hello fellow Coloradoans hypertyne and dirkduck!
I was just up in Boulder the other day and saw VB Burgers listed as a vegetarian friendly place ... is this the same place you're referring to? Is the only location in Boulder?
By the way, we went to 3 Little Figs and liked it. Also went to the Boulder Co-op and were a bit disappointed in the lack of merchandise and expired products in there - but sounds like they don't have the funds to buy lots of stuff. We went up to Boulder for the Farmer's Market. The zero-waste set-ups were cool! I wish Denver was more enviro-friendly!

VG Burgers is actually 100% vegan. No animal products whatsoever. Three Little Figs is great. I will probably be in there later today. Sarah lurks on here occassionally. Say hi Sarah. LOL
