Visiting Denver, Morrison, and Boulder next month. Can anyone suggest some places to eat? Boulder especially, since my hotel's there.

There is a brand new vegetarian restaurant in Aurora called The Windows Cafe. www.thewindowscafe.com

So this brings Aurora up to (at least) three veg-only restaurants? (Woodlands, Masala, and Windows Cafe). Pretty amazing. I could understand if this was the People's Republic of Boulder, but Aurora?

I don't live in Aurora any more, so I won't be dropping by this new place any time soon. However, I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm in Denver.

Never heard of Woodlands before and I just looked them up and they apparently are closed. :(

The Window Cafe is awesome. Been there twice so far and I love it. The food is excellent and I just love the staff.

That's interesting. I was a regular and enthusiastic customer of Masala. I was only in Woodlands once, and the manager bragged about how he was going to drive Masala out of business. Perhaps he should have held his tongue. It's not a surprise that Aurora can't support two Indian veg restaurants only a few blocks apart.

Keep the faith! :guitar:

I went to the Lunch Buffet at The Window Cafe today which was excellent. I was talking to two of the owners and I mentioned I heard about one called Woodlands, and they said that where they are now used to be Woodlands. They even found some old menus in the back. So, when you come in next, you will know right where it is:)

^Have you tried The AM train,or taking the RTD trains up to Boulder or Pueblo and then taking a bus. RTD usually has bike racks during the spring and summer, so you could bring your bike with you.

Just to flog a dead horse I've moved back to Colorado, but I'm in Littleton instead of Blouder now. Yeah bring on the republic of Boulder jokes, I love them.

VG Burgers in Boulder is all organic, vegan, and very good. I highly recommend them.

I think Windows will reopen again someday in a better location. Their location was the only thing that hurt them.

I wouldn't worry about Whole Foods all that much. If you can find better places than that to shop in Boulder, more power to you, but otherwise, that's a great place to start. I wish I could remember the name of that cool restaurant on Pearl Street that was so veg-friendly.

I think I saw it listed at one of those travel-related veg sites, like The Happy Cow, or whatever. Check 'em out.

There was one called Karma but it closed recently, too bad. They were vegan and healthy vegan I might add, recycled bought locally etc.

I live in Littleton Colorado.

Karma started selling meat shortly before they closed.

Ahh, I did not know that. Too bad, it must have been a struggle towards the end and that was the last idea on the list for them. Very nice owners though!!

This Saturday, December 9th, is the “Holiday Shop-Opp” at Three Little Figs Vegan Market (http://www.threelittlefigs.com) in Boulder.

Joining forces to create this one-of-a-kind shopping opportunity are Mike and Dan of Cruelty-Free World (http://www.crueltyfreeworld.com), who will be selling a variety of non-leather, sustainable and sweatshop-free bags, belts, wallets, and other items.

Stop by between noon and 6pm to check it out! There will be scrumptious snacks and sweets to sample (http://www.threelittlefigs.com/shop_opp_menu.html) and lots of great holiday treats for sale, from Silk Nog to veggie mincemeat and Chocolate Peppermint Penguins from Denver's vegan confectionery Bete Noire Chocolates (http://www.betenoirechocolates.com), plus many more.

So, if you've got to take care of some holiday shopping, why not consider supporting local veg businesses at the same time! Who wouldn't love to receive a box of dairy-free truffles and caramels, a gorgeous bag from Queen Bee, a sturdy hemp wallet, a cute pro-veg button, a vegan cookbook, or a Three Little Figs gift certificate?

Hope to see you on Saturday!

nope, they've been out of business since november. i helped to organize a fundraiser there for peaceful prairie sanctuary and the day of that event phil and eric who owned and ran the place announced to all the fundraiser attendees that it was their last day in business.

the space is soon to house (if it isn't open already) a kosher restaurant...italian, i believe...

i wish it weren't so!
