heabrook, have you ever been to sherpa's restaurant in boulder? It is located at 825 Walnut St. in Boulder and they have Indian, Tibetan, and Nepali dishes. There are many vegan or vegetarian and easily veganizable dishes on the menu, and the food is delicious. It's located in a gorgeous old victorian house, and has wonderful outdoor patio seating in warm weather. It's one of my favorite places to go in Boulder. The staff is really nice and they are truly happy to accomodate vegans. The Sherpa's vegetable stew with dumplings is warming and delicious. They'll make you a dairy-free saag with tofu and/or potatoes. The vegetable momos and lentil soup are delicious. etc. Just be sure to tell them no dairy and they will make up special bread for you and see that all your food is prepared how you want it.

They don't have dosa and things like that (south Indian stuff), but it's still a great place to go for a nice relaxing meal. Great atmosphere.

Oh, and if you ever get out to Nederland, definitely check out Katmandu!

What's the menu prices look like at Sherpa's?

I don't remember very specifically, but I think they're pretty moderate (and portions are generous)- maybe around 8-12 bucks per entree?

I'll have to check it out. Farmer's market is back in swing so hopefully I will get down that way at least every other weekend for the co-op and FM shopping. Sherpa's might be a good place to have a bite while I'm there.

I will. I'm curious about something... I heard a rumor that Deby's Gluten
Free Deli was trying to get some of their products stocked at TLF. Any
idea if this will ever happen? I'm guessing another freezer would have to
be added along with more shelf space. You guys might not have room for it.

I'm not that familiar with their product line, but we're always open to considering new things. The tough part, though, is that we *are* in a very small space and so (until if/when we move to a larger location in a year or two), it's pretty competitive for shelf and especially freezer space and the products that usually "make the cut" are the unique/hard to find elsewhere types of things. But never say never!

I am new to the boards here and wanted to say hi. I live in Englewood and I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but I seem to be pushing my way to veganism. I started a Denver area veggies group on google called DenverVeggies. You can find it at groups.google.com/group/DenverVeggies. I would like it to be more than just dinners and potlucks, but a social group for vegetarians and vegans because we often share more than just diet.

As for me, I am 33, pilot, motorcyclist, animal lover, equestrian, skier, snowboarder, hiker, biker, camper, and photographer. If you have similar interests, drop me a line.

Ciao,

C.J.

mountains.

4. You're a meat-eating vegetarian.

5. The bike on your car is worth more than your car and you have your own
special bike lane

6. You're able to drive 65 miles per hour through 13 feet of snow during a
raging blizzard without even flinching.

7. You take your out-of-town guests to Casa Bonita even though you would
never go there otherwise.

8. You think your major food groups are granola bars, tofu and Fat Tire
Beer.

9. You design your kid's Halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit.

10. You think that sexy lingerie is wool socks and flannel PJs.

11. You know all 4 seasons "almost winter, winter, still winter and spring
blizzards

12. You've been tear gassed in a riot to celebrate a CU/CSU's victory.

13. You can never figure out why your out-of-town guests faint from
altitude sickness on a picnic to the mountains.

14. You can drive over a 12,000 foot pass in 4 feet of snow, but can't get
to work if there are 4 inches of snow.

15. You know the 'correct' pronunciation of Buena Vista.

16. When you visit friends at sea level, you can drink a case of beer and
not get a buzz.

17. Your car insurance costs more than your car.

18. You have surge protectors on every outlet.

19. April showers bring May blizzards.

20. 'Timberline' is someplace you have actually been.

21. You know what a 'Chinook' is

23. You know what a "fourteener" is.

24. But you don't know what a “turn signal" is.

25. A bear on your front porch doesn't bother you nearly as much as a
Democrat in Congress does.

26. Your golf bag has a 9-iron, a 3-wood and a lightning rod.

27. You know who Alfred Packer was and what he did.

28. You know who Baby Doe Tabor was.

30. People from out of state breathe 5 times as often as you do.

33. A full moon has never kept you awake at night.

34. You have an $800 stereo in your $300 truck.

35. A sudden loss of cabin pressure is not a big deal.

36. You think a red light means 3 more cars can go.

37. Where we're going, we don't need roads!!

38. You know where Doc Holliday's grave is.

39. You know where Buffalo Bill's grave is.

40. You know where the real "South Park" is.

41. You can recognize the license plates of all 50 states on sight.

42. Driving directions usually include 'Go over _________ Pass.'

43. You've 'checked for ticks'

44. You've dressed in shorts, sandals, and a parka w/ a hood.

45. You've gone snow skiing in July and...

46. You've gone sunbathing in January and...

47. They were in the same year!

48. You've urinated on the Continental Divide just so it could 'run into
both oceans.

49. And the most important: You get a certain feeling of satisfaction from
knowing that California and Texas are both downstream.

50. You actually understand these jokes and send them to your Colorado
friends.

My sister is in Denver this week May 8th through the 12th.

She asked me if there was anything cool to see there. I'm really not sure. She's on a business trip and can't travel to far in the company vehicle. In fact, I'm really not too sure exactly where she is going. If there is an Air Force Base nearby or some type of Air Force facility ... that would be where her business is.

She's lacto/ovo, but will be stuck traveling with omnis. If you guys can help suggest some restaurants that would be friendly to her and not make her co-workers roll their eyes, I bet she'd really appreciate it.

If there are any good places to site see, besides just taking pictures of the mountains... let me know. I'll pass on the info.

Thank you!!

The Cheesecake Factory has a portobello sandwich that's good - it's on the end of the 16th Street Mall. There's a PF Changs behind the Krispy Kreme near the mall (Chinese Food, the menu is clearly marked as to which dishes are vegetarian - I can't remember the name of the mall though). For sight seeing, there's the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Butterfly Pavilion (in Westminster, nw of Denver), the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Natural History (there's a controversial anatomy display there right now), LoDo (Lower Downtown, bars and restaurants, like a "strip"), Elitch Gardens. www.denver.org (http://www.denver.org), might be useful.

The Air Force Academy is at the north end of Colorado Springs - is that where she's going? It's about an hour and half south of Denver.
