So, I carted my eastside ass out to the westside to check out that Good Karma place in Venice yesterday. It was all vegan, so no worries there. I had the mushroom swiss burger which was very good. They used canned mushrooms which I could have done without, but it was very obvious that the swiss cheese was Follow Your Heart, so that made it worthwile. My friend had the chili burrito which looked really good. I also had the vegan soft serve strawberry ice cream. It was all a little pricey (and when you add on the $10 that it cost in gas out there and back, even more so) but it would be great if you lived nearby! I would certainly recommend it!

The 26th? It's okay with me, if others are interested. I'm not a fan of the Green Temple's food, but I don't mind meeting there if it's in the evening (I'm unavailable until after 2:00pm).
I'm OK with that. I'd like to try the Green Temple. And I've driven down to the South Bay before, so Redondo Beach should be easy to get to. (I hate driving to unfamiliar places).

Hello everyone! My wife and I just turned vegetarian and we live in Riverside/San Bernardino area (its kind of up in the air right now, as we are searching for a place to live). I just wanted to introduce ourselves. Reading above, places like The Green Temple and One World Cafe were mentioned. Are these veg*n restaraunts? Are there any in the Inland Empire. I'd really like to try a veggie restaraunt.

The closest I ever get to San Bernadino/Riverside is El Monte/San Gabriel/Alhambra. There's a bunch of amazing veg restaurants there. If you're interested, I can provide more details.

Sure! Except for when I'm visiting my grandparents, I'm not really out by the 605 often. But I would love to check a place out when i go out that way.

OK, here are a couple:
Mighty Vege House
1400 East Valley Blvd.
Alhambra, California 91801
Vegetarian restaurant that is connected to a bowling alley! Lunch specials that are all under $5 and a huge selection of entrees, including stuff you won't find at other vegetarian restaurants like veggie pigeon.

Veggie Life Restaurant
9324 E Garvey Ave #8
South El Monte, California
Vietnamese vegan food served in an informal cafe-style restaurant in a strip mall on the southwest corner of East Garvey and Rosemead Blvd. Foods are tasty, wholesome, and nicely presented. We particularly enjoyed the Rice Rolls that were filled with minced water chestnuts, mushrooms and veggie ham and tucked inside a Vietnamese rice wrapper. These were served hot and made an excellent starter. The menu is extensive and is updated from time to time. Their foods contain no MSG and are free of all animal products.

Fine Garden
841 W Las Tunas Dr
San Gabriel, California 91776
This place used to be called "Veg Table." It looks like they remodeled the inside, but the menu is virtually the same. Wide variety of dishes made with soy/gluten "meats". Hands down the best vegetarian Chinese restaurant that I've been to. I would highly recommend the Orange Vege Chicken Nuggets, Vege Shredded Pork with Bean Curd and the Fried Vege Wontons.

I would HIGHLY recommend Fine Garden and Veggie Life. Both restaurants have fantastic food. Worth the drive out there...

Went to Good Karma yesterday. Here's their entry at VegGuide.org, where I wrote up my opinion of the meal:
Good Karma (http://www.vegguide.org/vendor/view.html?vendor_id=2859)
(no pun on good karma to be found in the review, I'm afraid)

I had virtually the same experience. I liked the what I think was FYH cheese, didn't dig the canned mushrooms or dining next to "the gym."

Just got this e-mail. For the LA/Hollywood folks:
We recently discovered BUSABA THAI VEGETARIAN KITCHEN on Melrose Avenue and are so excited that we must share this with everyone. This is not another carbon copy of the Vegan Express/California Vegan locations that have been sprouting up all over Los Angeles serving Americanized Thai food, burgers, and fries. This restaurant serves authentic Thai cuisine cooked vegetarian style with many many vegan options. This is possibly the best Thai food I’ve had outside Bangkok! The women are extremely friendly and knowledgeable so vegans don’t have no fear. Be sure to try the Fried Tofu (the best!), Eggplant Salad, Panaeng Curry, and of course…Thai Iced Tea! They offer delivery if you’re close enough!

There's hardly any vegetarian restaurants in San Diego and their all downtown. I hate going downtown.
One of these days I'm going to try Kung Food which is near Balboa Park. It's vegan and they have a drive-thru.

A bunch of those items sound similar, though the decor is probably better.
The restaurant is about a block west and on the other side of the street from M Cafe de Chaya, which is better than most of the local joints for vegan food, but kinda pricey.
