I don't go there too often. We visit my grandma most often who lives in Palmdale.

Nothing wrong with 15 year olds...I have a thirteen year old girl. We're moving to Phoenix on the 25th. (Going from hot to hotter) :( Though I have to say, since you'll be driving soon, Bakersfield is the perfect place to learn. I've never been in a place with so few cars on the road and no rush hours!

Miyagi's, across from Dublins... and just in front of Hotel Marmont.

That's the place. Ahhh...spring rolls and vege tempura........
We saw Brad Pitt and Jen getting take out the last time we were there. My daughter actually began choking. (Or it could be the non-veg sushi she was ingesting...grumble grumble) I'll miss LA.

Out of curiosity, you said your daughter is thirteen, right? What school does she go to?

Her name is Abby Johnston. Abby thinks she knows her, and she's checking her yearbook :)

Ab is now wondering if misty is vegan too. Abby says that misty was never mean to her. She was in the same science class. Abby knows some of mistys friends. Small world!! I really wish that there were others from bakersfield, too!

Mist remembers her very well and is sorry now that she's moving. My child is a carnivore through and through and loves to talk about killing cows just to upset me. Of course it does...grumble grumble. That's so funny...maybe some other Bake people will speak up...Come on, any other Bakersfielders out there??

Now that were confessing about misty.. just kidding. Abby says that she tried to sit with her little "group", and misty was jerky. Ah, the world of Jr. High. Yeah, speak up if you live in bakersfield! No shame!

See what I mean...she can be very snooty--- People write all kinds of stories about mean stepmothers . . . I say, where are the books about the mean step kids??????????????? ha ha Tell your sister to not feel bad...she's mean to me too. :surprised
Let me edit that...unless she wants something.

Anyone been to Herbavoire in the city? SD and I keep trying to find it but we've gotten lost twice.
I'm from So Cal.......HUntington beach to be exact. My friends and I went up to SF a couple months ago. We went to Herbivore on Divisdero. It was AMAZING!!! I'm assuming you have found it since you posted.......I had the lentil loaf with fresh beet sauce  The vegan chocolate cup cake is out of this world too. If we lived in SF.....my tummy would be so happy

I went to Herbivore once. I think I had Gnocci. It was very good I thought. I skipped dessert because I had a second dinner to go to in a couple hours. (there were lots of Hobbit jokes over that one)

is anybody going to UCSC or CSU Monterey?
I had the lentil loaf with fresh beet sauce
I've been there once, and that's also what I got. It was really good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. The serving of mashed potatoes was kind of small and even a bit cold.
I just miss The Grasshopper in Allston.

If anyone ever makes it north to Sacramento, I will take them to lunch at my favorite lil place to eat. It is very veggie friendly. Best falafel, and nutburgers. :)
